Nandito na kami sa multi-purpose room nina Triss, Ryan, Angel, Ken, Madi, saka Sir Sarezi.

I obviously did not invite Carrie. Duh. I wanted to do it, pero mukhang di matutuwa sina Angel at Madi if I do so. When I invited them, ang unang tanong nila ay...

"Kasama ba si Carrie?"

So yeah. Halata namang ayaw nila.

Si Zeke naman, late. 5 minutes nalang daw.

Well, it didn't take him 5 minutes. It took him only like 2 minutes to arrive.

"Sorry, traffic kasi" hinihingal na sabi ni Zeke. Lahat kami di naniwala sa sinabi niya. "Okay fine, napahaba tulog ko" he said, finally surrendering.

"Mga anong oras dadating si YZ?" Tanong ni Madi. "Ite-text pa siya ni Renz eh" sabi ko. They nodded. "Basta ang plano ay naka-on lang ang lights na naka-hang pagka-pasok niya. Then let's give him about 10 seconds to look at the pictures, then turn on the lights saka magpakita tayo from sa kahit saan na pagtataguan natin. Okay?" Instruct ko.

I took my phone pero nakita kong nag-text na si YZ.

Sinabihan ko na si Renz na i-text si YZ. Pinakita niya sakin ang convo nila.

Natawa ako sa pag-uusap nila. Wala, nakakatawa eh.

***Later***

"Uy, nasa parking lot na daw si YZ. Sunduin ko lang ahh" sabi ni Renz. We nodded. Nang makaalis na si Renz, we turned off the lights except the lights na naka-hang. Nagtago kami while I'm holding his cake na hindi ko muna ni-light.

3 minutes later, nagbukas ang pintuan. I heard footsteps, probably YZ who's walking towards the lights.

Just like planned, we gave him 10 seconds.

My position was ready to show up.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" sigaw naming lahat kasabay ng pag-on ng ilaw saka pag-putok ng party poppers.

Smiling, I walked towards YZ while holding the cake. Kumanta kami ng happy birthday but I noticed something.

He isn't smiling.

I got worried, and so did the others. We all know he smiles a lot.

"There's no need for this" he coldly said. I started getting worried. Did he not like the surprise? Anong meron? Tangina parang may sumaksak sa puso ko.

"Why?" A person asked. I didn't bother knowing kung sino yun. My smile disappeared and turned upside down.

"I'm breaking up with you" sabi ni YZ, looking straight at my eyes. I chuckled. "Is this another one of your unfunny jokes?" I asked.

"No. I'm serious. Let's break up" he simply said it like it didn't mean anything.

Our relationship meant everything to me.

"I-I don't understand" I said, tears now ready to escape my eyes.

"Are you deaf? I said, let's break up! Di mo kayang intindihin yun? Fine! Wala na tayo! It's over!" He shouted right at my face.

And there. Tears escaped my eyes. I dropped the cake to the floor. Everything to me slowed down. I simply didn't understand.

I didn't understand why he said those words.

I saw someone punch YZ in the face. I tried stopping him but I lost the energy to do so.

Don't punch him, please.

He doesn't deserve to be punched.

Mahal ko siya, at bawal niyong saktan ang mga mahal ko.

Two guys stopped the guy who punched YZ. Good, please stop him.

My tears were now unstoppable. Bakit ba ko ganto? Ba't ako naiyak? Tangina ahh.

I heard YZ leave and shut the door loudly. I stood up and ran to stop him. No one stopped me from doing so.

I held his arm. "Baby please, don't leave. Bakit ba? Ano bang meron? Did I not show my love for you enough? Did I do something you don't like? What did I do? Baby, please!" Sabi ko trying to wake myself to reality from this awful dream.

He removed his arm from my hand.

"It's not you, it's me. Actually scratch that, it is you"

And then everything went black.
