Having decided our internships, me and Shouto didn't need to worry about school. All we had to worry about was not mentioning anything to our father. We knew what kind of reactions we'd get from him, and neither one of us wanted him to find out. Over the weekend, we both decided to train.
"How should we plan the workout sessions?" Shouto asked, holding a pen over paper. We sat at our small table in our room on the floor, working out what we would be doing over the weekend. I put my chin in my hand, trying to think.
"Well, thinking about what mom said, she told us that we should be our own heroes, not relying on others too much," I said, turning to him, "so do you think it would be a good idea to mostly training ourselves up so we wouldn't need to depend on each other?" Shouto thought for a moment, but a hint of sadness ran over his face. "Um, I'm not saying we're not going to be heroes together," I quickly said, waving my hands towards him in defence, "What I mean is, as mom and even Midoriya said, we should fight and depend on our own power, and not having anyone hold us back or push us down. I was gonna suggest that we still train together, but for the body build up." Shouto later smiled, and wrote what I said down.
"Okay," he said, finishing writing and looking back up, "what times would you train with me?"
"How about at least 3 hours a day together?" I suggested, and he took a quick note, "oh, and one of those hours would be with our Quirks, to maybe strengthen them against each other," I added, seeing him copy my words down.
"So should we train at least 3 to 4 hours a day at the gym, 1 or 2 of those hours without Quirks, then the rest with them?" suggested Shouto. I clapped my hands together, smiling with glee.
"Perfect," I said, and standing up, "and if we feel like training more, then that's cool!" I said, stretching my arms up in the air. Shouto smiled as he stood up and placed the workout schedule on the wall near the door.
"Right, well I'm going to my gym soon," he said, opening the bedroom door, "I'm just going to eat something quick." I grinned and watched him leave, to which my phone went off. I glanced at the screen, seeing Bakugou's name.
'Oi, you going to the gym today? -B'
'Yeah, in about an hour or two, what about you? -T'
'Hurry your ass up. I'm already here. -B'
Tch, that means I have to eat quickly. I sighed in defeat and started to get dressed for the gym. I put on a tight black vest with black short, tying my hair into a ponytail. Shouto returned eating something small.
"Are you going, too?" he asked, to which I nodded.
"I'm just going to eat something," I added, leaving the room.
"I left you something," yelled Shouto from the open door.
"Thanks," I yelled back. I found a sandwich made and left on a plate near the fridge. I quickly ate it on the spot, telling Bakugou I'd be there soon. As I stood by the door, Shouto joined me. We glanced at each other, giving a small smirk. We both knew what we were planning to do. "Go!" I yelled, and we both instantly set our Quirks off, speeding off. Since our gyms were in similar directions, we stopped at the turning point where we had to separate.
"I win," he said as I melted his right arm's ice that started to appear.
"Tch. Yeah, yeah, whatever," I said, not looking up. Since I knew who was over at my gym, I began to feel nervous about going, even though I wasn't sure why, and kept losing focus, and letting Shouto win. He smirked at me, and put his right arm over mine, cooling them down. As he did that, I looked at my palms then at his left arm. I remembered what had happened at the sports festival, remembering of how he had suddenly unleashed his hidden flames. Part of me felt betrayed, but most of me felt glad he had come through. "Shouto," I said, making him look at me. I glanced up at him, and gave him a warm smile as I put my hand on his left shoulder. "You shouldn't hold yourself back anymore," I said, causing his eyes to widen a little. "Now, I don't want to pressure you, since it's the last thing you'd expect from me, but remember what Midoriya said. If he believes in you, then I definitely do, too. I'm sure you'll be way more powerful, and actually beat me in a fight," I said, smiling at the last part. He fell silent for a while, but looked up at me, and gave me a weak smile.
"I'll try," he said.
"You don't have to," I quickly said, putting my other hand on his other shoulder, "I'm just saying that Midoriya made a good point to both of us, especially you, and even though it's just want dad wanted, I'm sure mom wants to see you do well with your own intentions, not that old man." Shouto's eyes widened a little more before smiling and giving me a small embrace.
"Thanks, Homura," he said, and turned away to walk the rest of the way to his gym. I caught him looking at his left palm as he walked off. I sighed. I'm sure he'll be fine. I began to fly away, as my gym was above the ground while Shouto's was at ground level. Like clockwork, I landed on the roof, and walked downstairs to the actual gym. As I opened the door, I caught sight of Bakugou using the punching bag. He glances at me and smirks, and stops punching. I gave him a small smile, and slowly approached him. He came towards me, chin in the air in a cocky way. For some reason, I didn't understand why I felt a nervousness hit me. It's not like this is our first time seeing each other. Without exchanging words, Bakugou lightly grabs my chin, pulling it up and pressed his warm lips onto mine. Instantly, I melted into the kiss, almost like we were so used to it. After a few seconds, he pulled away, grinning at me.
"I've been waiting to do that all damn day," he admitted, his voice surprisingly low. I blushed but ended up smiling.
"Me, too," I said shyly. He grinned and pulled his body away, putting a towel around the back of his neck. Since he came here often, he slowly learnt about every inch of the gym, knowing what was in there, and limits and rules that I told him about. I felt quite respected for that.
"What internship did you choose?" he asked before taking a sip of water. I let out a small sigh.
"Seeing our dad wanted us, we didn't have much choice to choose his, but we've got something in mind we plan to while we're there," I said, crossing my arms and looking at him seriously, before letting out another sigh, "what about you, or have you not chosen yet?" He let out a fat grin.
"The number four hero himself, Best Jeanist, has offered me an internship," he said boldly, placing a thumb on his chest and he gestured to himself. I gave him a warm smile.
"Well, you did come first in the Sports Festival," I said. He then let out a growl.
"Only cause Half-and-Half Bast-" he stopped talking as I raised a serious eyebrow at him, "I mean, your brother just decided to lose on purpose against me! That first place didn't mean anything!" he began to yell, and I felt myself frown as he didn't know what was going through Shouto's mind at that time. I let out another sigh, getting his attention.
"Although he didn't mean it, Shouto did want to fight with his fire, too, after what Midoriya told us, but as you saw, he stopped halfway," I said, then gave him a stern look, "I'm only telling you this and I trust you enough not to mention this to anyone." He nodded at me, looking back at me seriously and crossed his arms. "Shouto's having trouble. He's still upset about the whole family situation and doesn't know exactly what to do with himself, another reason why we plan on going to work with our father. That's why he used his first name during the hero name presentations. He's still unsure what to do, and during the fight, the thought happened to distract him, but at least be glad you won," I said, giving him a small smile. Bakugou listened carefully to me, his usual angry expression on his face. As he listened though, his eyebrows started to narrow slightly as I kept talking. In the end, his closed his eyes, a nerve sticking out of his head, but calmed himself down.
"He'd better not back down the next time I fight him," he growled. I gave him a bigger smile, seeing he understood the situation in his own angry way. I walked by him towards the punching bag he used, placing my hand on his shoulder, and whispered into his ear.
"Thank you for understanding, but who said that's the only Todoroki you'll be fighting?" I said, my voice low and intimidating. I heard him let out a fat grin as he chuckled. I watched him turn around, his hands letting out little explosions.
"That's my girl," he growled, making me blush like mad, but glanced back at him.
"No Quirks in the gym," I said, still blushing.
"I'm not!" he yelled, clenching his fists in anger. I let out a challenging smile, then looked at him with glaring eyes.
"I didn't say to stop," I said, then shot myself out the gym. I heard him chuckle and growl, as he shot out after me.
