I was ready. I was prepared. I stood with Shouto and Kirishima in front of the hospital, wearing the same outfit as before. I didn't feel like changing. Kirishima stood impatiently, a drop of sweat leaving his forehead. Shouto stared at the front door, calm and collected.
"I wonder what Yaoyorozu decided," mumbled Kirishima, referring to when we had asked Momo to make receiver for us. She wasn't sure, and would tell us later, which leads us to where we are now.
"Well, no matter how restless we are, it's up to her," said Shouto, and the sound of the front door caught my attention.
"She's here," I mumbled, walking towards the figure of Momo heading towards me. She glanced over, and I saw Midoriya walking behind her.
"Midoriya.." whispered Shouto, and silence fell as I reached Momo. Shouto and Kirishima walked behind me.
"Yaoyorozu... what's your answer?" frantically asked Kirishima. She paused and hesitated before speaking.
"I-" she started, but was interrupted.
"Wait!" said a familiar voice. All of us turned around.
"Iida," mumbled Kirishima and Midoriya. He walked sternly over to us.
"Why... Why did it have to be you guys of all people?!" he said, keeping his head low, "the ones who stopped me when I acted recklessly for personal reasons... you two, who received amnesty with me... why are you trying to make the same mistake I did?! It's too much!" He glanced at Midoriya and Shouto, as the rest of us stood in silence.
"What are you talking about?" asked Kirishima, walking up to Iida, only to be stopped by Shouto.
"We are still minors," continued Iida, "UA is in a bad enough position as it is. Who will take responsibility for your actions? Do you understand?!" I wanted to speak up, but Midoriya beat me to it.
"Iida, it's not like that," he said, walking up to Iida, "we don't think it's okay to break rules either-" the sound of a punch echoed in my ears. The four of us were shocked to see Iida punch Midoriya in the face. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"I'm frustrated, too!" shouted Iida, "and worried! It's only natural! I am the class representative! I'm worried about my classmates! Not just Bakugou! When I saw your injuries, I also saw my brother in his sickbed! What if your bodies end up irreparable, like my brother's, because of your recklessness? Are you saying that you don't care about my worries?" Iida grabbed Midoriya's shoulders, almost using them as a support as I heard the hurt start to flood into his voice. "Are you saying that you don't care about how I feel...?"
"Iida..." mumbled Midoriya, not taking his head up to look at him.
"Iida," Shouto broke out, "we don't expect to face them head-on and win either. We'll extricate them without fighting."
"In other words, convert action!" added Kirishima.
"We respect the rules, but if there's a way to get Bakugou back without breaking the rules, that's what we're doing," I said.
"I trust the twins," said Momo, "but so that I can stop them if anything happens, I plan to accompany them, as well.
"Yaoyorozu!" exclaimed Iida and Kirishima. I felt tears burn in my eyes as I ran into Momo, hugging her tightly without hurting her. I looked up at her.
"Thank you," I whispered. She seemed surprised but smiled warmly and hugged me back.
"I don't know myself, either," said Midoriya, making me turn around, "but after hearing that I could still reach, I couldn't just sit still... I can't help thinking that I want to save him." There was a moment of silence as Midoriya and Iida stared each other down, until Iida lowered his head.
"We can't come to an agreement, huh?" he mumbled, but looked up at us, "then, take me with you, too!" All of us stood silently, shocked at his sudden request. Without saying anything, I caught Iida's eye, smiling warmly at him for his bravery. One by one, we started to leave the hospital entrance, walking in a group and not exchanging a word. "Midoriya," said Iida, breaking the silence, "I apologise for getting violent with you. I'm sorry." He bowed as Momo walked beside them.
"Seriously, Iida," she said, "your reason for joining the group is not very persuasive."
"It's fine! I'm okay!" stuttered Midoriya, nervous of Iida bowing to him.
"I am accompanying you because I am not convinced you will behave yourselves," replied Iida, standing up straight, "if I get even a whiff of combat, then I will make you return immediately. In other words, you will be under my surveillance. That's right, I will be a 'watchman'!"
"Watchman Iida," mumbled Shouto. I blinked in utter confusion on what was happening.
"The same goes for me," said Momo. I looked at her with more confusion. "Rescuing Bakugou is a job for the pros. Looking at this objectively, there is no need for you all to do anything. However, it is a compromise plan because I know very well how you feel. Do not forget that." I smiled at her in reassurance, and continued walking with the others. In a way, I was the one taking the lead. Even though I didn't know where Bakugou was, I wanted to be the first one to see him again. I wanted him back badly, but I knew everyone wanted him back, too. We walked to the train station, and looked around for the right train to take. I heard Kirishima's stomach rumble. He blushed hard and smiled awkwardly.
"Sorry, I didn't eat lunch," he said. Iida took his arm and dragged him over to the closest food parlour, lecturing him about eating every meal and not to skip them. Shouto turned to me.
"You need to eat, too," he said, and dragged me along before I could protest. I wasn't paying attention to what they were buying. I only looked at which train Momo was planning to get on. After getting the food, we boarded a bullet train. Momo took out the receiver and I stared at it with such concentration.
"The coordinates on the receiver indicate Camino Ward, Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture. Since we're leaving from Nagano, it was take about two hours. We should arrive around ten o'clock," said Momo. I stared hard at the receiver then at her, later turning my attention to the window. I watched the splitting images of buildings flash by from the speed. I then felt light poking at the side of my cheek. I turned and my mouth immediately opened as Shouto shoved a rice ball into it.
"Eat," he said, eating his own rice ball. I blinked rapidly, and finished the bite before taking it out.
"Don't feed me! We're not children anymore!" I said, embarrassed he was doing this in front of our friends.
"You're not taking care of yourself. I have no choice," he said, picking up the chopsticks again and putting a slice of sushi in my mouth. My eyebrows narrowed. I chewed before talking.
"Stop it!" I said, trying to take the chopsticks away from him. He smirked a little as he dodged my attacks. Kirishima and Momo giggled lightly as they watched us.
"Um, did you tell everyone that we would leave tonight?" asked Midoriya. Shouto paused and placed a rice ball in my mouth as he turned to glance at Midoriya.
"Yeah. They tried even harder to stop us when we told them, though," he said, ignoring my attempts of pushing the food away.
"After that, Uraraka said something pretty harsh, too," added Kirishima, half chewing his food, "she said that Bakugou would feel humiliated that he had to be saved by everyone." Midoriya looked down in shame. Shouto noticed and sighed.
"Just to make sure, you know that what we're doing is selfish and that no one wants us to do it, right? You can still turn back if you want to," he said.
"Not a chance," I immediately said.
"If I were hesitating, then I wouldn't've said I'd do it in the first place!" Kirishima answered right after me. "He's not someone who'd let the villains do whatever they want with him."
"What about you, Midoriya?" Shouto asked.
"I..." started Midoriya, then paused for a second. "I cannot turn back," he sternly said. All of us seemed reassured with his answer.
"I see... alright," said Shouto, calmly looking at him. We all sat in silence, staring out the window or eating, well, in my case, resisting to eat so I could watch out the window. I wanted the bullet train to move faster. I wish I could use my Quirk to get there faster. I need to be there faster.
The two hours soon came to an end, and we stood in the street of Camino Ward.
"So this is Camino Ward?" questioned Midoriya.
"There are a lot of people," said Shouto.
"So these guys are hiding somewhere in this city?" growled Kirishima, and started to run away. "Okay, where are they, Yaoyorozu?!"
"Wait a minute!" she stated in a panic, "from here on out, we must be very, very careful. The villains know what we look like, remember? We must also consider that we may be attacked at any moment."
"Got it! Gotta be covert!" whispered Midoriya, crossing his arms over his face.
"That's making you stand out more, Midoriya," Shouto pointed out.
"But at this rate, we won't be able to scout very easily," said Iida.
"Then what are we supposed to do?" sighed Kirishima.
"I have a suggestion," said Momo, her cheeks slightly red and pointing behind her. We saw a store called Dirt-Cheap Donki Oote. It seemed like Momo wouldn't stop fidgeting. I stared at her in disbelief, but sighed and followed her lead. One by one, we each came out with our new outfits. I was wearing a black wig that covered half of my eyes and ended past my shoulders to hide my red hair and eyes. I wore a flowery shirt with a large leather coat on top. I wore leather leggings and large boots, a style I hated and kind of liked at the same time. We all left the store, my boots making huge stomps as I took each step.
"Hey, you!" growled Midoriya, trying to get into his character.
"That's all wrong! You've gotta push your jaw out more!" lectured Kirishima.
"Hey!" growled Midoriya, to which Kirishima agreed with.
"There's a lady with a huge rack over there!" exploded Iida, his posture too straight for his statement. However, Kirishima also approved of his words. Momo huffed as she twirled her hair.
"Kids could stand out in the shopping district at night, right?" she said, her voice full of delight.
"Yaoyorozu, wouldn't it have been free if you used Creation to make all this?" questioned Shouto, his wig covering his scarred eye.
"Th-Th-That's against the rules!" she blurted out, fumbling around with her hands to cover her pink face. "If I make anything I want with my Quirk, then circulation of money and... that's right, as a citizen of this nation, I must increase the flow of money in the economy!"
"I see," said Shouto as he watched her unfold her shyness. I put my arm over her shoulder, my wig covering half my face now.
"Nice try," I said, smirking a little. She silently straightened herself up, and started to walk down the street.
"Everyone, our destination is this way-" she started to say, but something made us stop dead in our tracks.
"Whoa, it's UA!" someone said. I felt my heart drop, but only saw everyone looking up at a large screen, showing a broadcast of a UA High School Emergency Press Conference.
"And now, please watch a clip from UA High School's apology press conference that just occurred," stated the announcer. We all turned to see Nezu, Eraser Head and Vlad King bowing down to the camera.
"We deeply apologise for the incident that allowed harm to come to 27 first years of the hero course because of our unpreparedness," announced Aizawa, who looked a lot cleaner and well dressed. "We apologise for causing unease in society due to our negligence in property defending ourselves as a place of learning. We are truly sorry." All three of them bowed to the camera, and the flashing of cameras bounced off the walls.
"Mr. Aizawa, who hates being on TV, is..." started Kirishima.
"I'm from Yomiuri TV," continued the broadcast, "since the beginning of the year, UA High School students have had four encounters with villains. This time, there were even students injured. How did you explain to their families, and what are some specific countermeasures are you taking?"
"Treating them like the bad guys...?" breathed Midoriya.
"We will increase policing in the surrounding area and review the security within the school, ensuing the students' safety with a strong position," answered Nezu. From that comment, a bunch of people started muttering about UA. The broadcast went on, but none of us wanted to hear how badly UA was getting attacked by these questions. All around us, only negative comments were coming out of people's mouths. I didn't want to hear it. UA was too much of a good school to have this much hate grow onto them. We all walked away, trying to cover our faces from the crowd. All of these comments weren't going to matter soon. It was only a matter of time before the missing student became the survivor of his kidnapping.
