My eyes fluttered open, blocking the sunlight that shone through the open window. Urgh, I told Shouto not to do that. He probably did that to annoy me. I got up, stretched for a few minutes and yawned several times. I hated the mornings, weekend or not. I walked downstairs, coming into the kitchen. Shouto was already down there, eating a simple breakfast.
"How many times have I told you not to open the blinds in the morning," I said, scowling at him, my hair looking crazy and looked at Shouto with tired eyes. He grinned at me, the corner of his mouth littered with a few crumbs. I glared at him while I got some breakfast.
"What you doing today?" he asked, biting his toast again.
"Do some homework, then training. What about you? I replied. I got out some bread, and placed them in the toaster, and spun around to face Shouto.
"I was thinking of doing the same. I might go out and buy a few supplies," he said, finishing his food and washing up his plate, "do you want to come with me?" He asked, finishing and turning to me.
"Sure," I said, just as my toast was ready. I pulled them, grabbing a plate and putting them on there. Shouto raised an eyebrow.
"Do you need to eat 8 pieces? he asked, pointing at my plate. My head spun towards him, glaring at him.
"I'm hungry!" I said, grabbed my plate and pouted. He chuckled as I stomped away. I ate my food within a few seconds. Shouto blinked several times, watching me hoover down my food. I glanced at him with my mouth full and crumbs surrounding my face. I blinked serval times, but be just sighed and facepalmed, almost like he was embarrassed that I was his sister. When I washed up, I went back upstairs to get ready for the day. I got dressed into some loose, black shorts and a cosy, white jumper, well Shouto's jumper. The sleeves slid down my hands, but it's was really cosy so I didn't care. I brushed my hair and tied it up into a ponytail, and got my homework for the day. Shouto walked in, almost like he knew I'd be ready. When we were little, we used to see each other naked, since we were twins after all, but as we got older, he became nice enough to let me change in private. He was wearing baggy, black tracksuits and a white t-shirt. He went over to his bag, and collected his work. We decided to work together. We sat on the floor, and put our work on the little table in the middle of our large room. He mostly worked in silence, occasionally asking each other questions and helping out with tough topics. After a few hours, we finished off most of the sections we wanted to do today, saying we'll finish everything off tomorrow. While Shouto went to go a get a glass of water, I took out my hair, brushed it again, and put on some socks before running downstairs. Shouto gave me a glass of water with an ice popsicle which I ate in two bites.
"Why do you eat so fast?" he asked, giving me the same look he gave this morning. I nodded at him frantically, grinning at him. He sighed but gave me a smile as we got our shoes on and walked outside. We walked to the mall, and I started to window shop, getting excited at the new clothing. Shouto trailed behind me, shaking his head at how girly I sometimes acted. We eventually picked up some spare pens, pencils, paper, then some food for the house, especially bread since I ate it all this morning. I picked up some new hairbands, simple bracelets and necklaces, some stylish clothing that was on sale, and little figurine of a cat for my nightstand. Shouto picked up some new training clothing that suited his Quirk, a new toothbrush, and a small pot of bamboo sticks for his desk. I looked at him when he bought it. He had a small shine in his eye as he picked it up after paying. I liked that side of him, which he rarely showed, even to me. He always loved the traditional Japanese items, like the designer sliding doors, paintings, and especially their plants. I carried my things and Shouto held his, and we split the rest of the load between us. We left the mall, talking about our training later on today. When we got home, we put the food away, then put our things upstairs before making something to eat. We ate in the living room, watching some TV as no one was home. Soon, I ran upstairs to go to the bathroom, then checked my phone. It was almost time to meet Bakugou. I quickly got changed into a tight, white vest and tight, black leggings, both of which I had made for my Quirk, as well as the socks and shoes I would put on downstairs.
"Homura, don't leave your plate in the living room," shouted Shouto.
"I'm busy," I yelled back.
"Then hurry up," shouted Shouto, "I'm going out again. Don't come back late. Later."
"Bye," I yelled. I heard the front door open and close. I put my hands on my hips, sighing. I got my plate and washed it in the kitchen. I looked up at the time. "Oh, I'm going to be late," I said to myself. I left the house, put my hands to my side, and shot myself upwards and soared high towards the spot I was in yesterday. I looked down and saw the open space. It was only a couple meters from where I usually trained. Huh, what a coincidence. I floated down, doing several flips before hitting the ground with a thud, placing my hand in front of me to soften my landing. I raised myself off the ground, brushed a couple strands of hair from my eyes. I instantly saw Bakugou standing under a tree in front of my eye's view, his arms crossed and his eyes closed.
"Took your time," he grunted, opening his eyes and looking at me with his shady, crimson eyes. He leaned forward, pushing himself off the tree and coming towards me. He wore similar clothing to me, but was all baggy and he wore the same red and black boots like his hero costume. He came to stop a few meters from me, his hands in his pockets.
"I had to change after going to the mall," I said, crossing my arms.
"Tch, excuses," he said, closing his eyes and raising his head up. I rolled my eyes, and dropped my head slightly, closing my eyes.
"It matters that I'm here," I said, then unexpected, threw a fiery punch at him. However, he dodged it at the last second, but grabbed my hot fist. I glared at me and gritted his teeth. "Should always be on your guard around your enemy," I said, my voice low and a smirk coming onto my face.
"Tch, I never said I was ready to start, idiot," he said, tightening his hand around my wrist. I smirked harder, warming up my fist more, making the fire burn brighter. "Didn't I tell you that doesn't affect me?" he said, glaring at me.
"And didn't I tell you before that it wasn't my real intention?" I replied. The fire got so bright that he had to cover his eyes with the hand that was around mine. I withdrew it, and placed it on my waist, waiting for him to look at me again. He gritted his teeth again. He began to run towards me, but I put my hand in front of me. "Stop," I said calmly, making him skit to a stop, looking puzzled but still angry.
"Huh?" he said rather angrily.
"Before we start the real battle, do some normal workouts," I said, putting my hand down and stretching my arms. He growled at me.
"Don't tell me what to do," he yelled, but pouted as he copied the same exercise I did. I began to stretch my legs, back and arms, letting the blood flow throughout my body. Bakugou did his own warmup, keeping the same angry face from before. Soon, both of us seemed to be finished, and without warning, Bakugou sprinted towards me again. Once again, I lifted my hand up, stopped him again. "What now?" he yelled, his eyebrows twitching. I didn't answer at first, letting my hair shield my eyes, shyly. I eventually lifted my head and looked him in the eyes.
"If you'd like, would you be willing to go to my personal gym to work out on our physical abilities?" I asked, my voice almost turning into a whisper. Bakugou's eyes widened slightly, his muscles loosening up. Suddenly, he tensed up again.
"You'd better not say that to distract me from you," he yelled. I gave him a quick glare.
"Tch, I'm not, you idiot," I said, lowering my hand and crossing my arms, "I was inviting you, but if not, then I'll go there myself," I said, turning around and put my hands to the side, ready to take off.
"Fine, then," he growled, making me glance behind me. His head was off looking at the side, still looking angry, but with a slight embarrassment to it. His cheeks showed a small bit of pink as he glanced at me. I smiled at him.
"Then follow me," I said, hovering upwards a little bit, "if you can keep up." With that, I shot myself upwards. I glanced down and faintly saw him grin, later followed by a large explosion and his grinning face coming clearer into view. I smirked at him as I darted forward, Bakugou right on my tail. The whole time, Bakugou kept his teeth clenched tight, but his grin never left his lips. I spotted the gym after a few minutes, and dropped down to its height. I landed loudly on the ceiling, burning it a little bit. "I need to stop doing that," I mumbled to myself, wiping the burnt paint of the floor away. However, Bakugou landed harder than me, leaving a larger burn mark. "Oi, don't burn the floor!" I yelled, almost startling him. His eyebrows started twitching again.
"You did the exact same thing as me!" he yelled back. I glared at him, pouting slightly.
"Didn't mean to," I mumbled, and stood up.
"What is this place anyway," asked Bakugou, looking around. We stood on a small gray building that stood near the hill I trained alone on, far away from any civilian homes. It originally was an old car park that was eventually abandoned, but my Father bought two, one for me and one for Shouto, which stood further away from mine, closer to home so Father could keep a closer eye on him. He let us personalise our gym with equipment, tools and other things we would need in our gym. It was only one floor, standing high above the ground, but the rest of the space between Shouto's gym and mine, was an open space full of rubble, in which me and him would practise fighting with our Quirks. As well as the gym, Father bought out a patch of land for us, originally an older section of the city before it expanded and abandoned places that they no longer used, such as the area we were in now. The government allowed this, as we were the children of the number two hero, and they also allowed it if we didn't use our Quirks within a certain range of the city.
"It's a personalised gym that only me, Shouto and my father know about. I own this one while Shouto owns another further down there," I said, pointing. He glanced to where I was pointing, then turned to me again.
"Who's Shouto?" he asked, like he had ignored everything I had said. I blinked at him in confusion, my own confusion to the question but at how he didn't know who I was talking about.
"M-my twin brother?" I said, looking at his straight face. He raised an eyebrow before speaking
"Oh, that half and half bastard?" he asked. I gave a little snort, trying to hide the fact I was laughing. "What are you laughing at?" growled Bakugou.
"Nothing, nothing," I said, turning to his angry face, "but this gym is mine. There's loads of equipment in here, so you can use any that you want, but if you want to use your Quirk, use the open space down there," I said, pointing to the rubble below us. He glanced down to where I was pointing. He was silent for a minute, and closed his eyes.
"Thanks," he mumbled. I raised an eyebrow at him, but I couldn't help but give a small smile. I turned towards the doorway which led down to the gym.
"Come on," I said, as he slowly trailed along behind me. We came into the gym. The walls, well, two walls, were painted a light grey colour. The other two walls were missing, due to the previous original design of the car park, but I didn't mind. It provided a natural AC. During the winter, I would use my Quirk to help raise my body temperature, and I used the cold air to my advantage. The room was very simple with normal gym equipment scattered around it, along with some yoga equipment in a near the edge of the missing wall. I would face a beautiful scenery and helped me maintain my peace. "You can use whatever you'd like to use," I said, gesturing the room to him. He raised his eyebrow, scanning the room. His hands in his pockets, he wondered over to the weight lifting equipment section of the gym. I watched him go over there and saw him set the weights to one of the highest, and lay down on the bench. His fingers wrapped around the bar, inhaled and pushed the bar up, carefully but brilliantly. I couldn't help but watch his strong arms at work, but I quickly snapped those thoughts out of my head, and watched to my yoga mat. I took off my socks and shoes, and sat cross-legged, placing my hands on my knees, and stared at the scenery. I felt the cool air blow through my red hair, closing my eyes and feeling myself relax completely. I felt the flow of my blood rush around my body, and felt the air go in through my nose. I felt lighter than air and imagined myself in that scenery in front of my gym. I had a thing for beautiful views, and I would often spend days on top of my gym, just watching the sun set on the horizon. Keeping my eyes closed, I slowly raised my arms above my head, untangling my legs, arching my back and created a perfect bridge. I continued to breath in deeply, feeling the air go through my nose. I helped relax me so much. After a while, I raised my leg up, pointing my toes up into the air. I stayed like that for a while before switching legs. Soon, I pushed my leg upwards, slowly straightening my back and legs. I formed the perfect handstand. I then stretched out my legs, forming them into the splits. I had done this for years, so I barely lost any balance. After a while, I put my feet on the ground, and stood up, with my eyes still closed. I opened my arms, like I was giving a hug, and leaned forward with my leg going behind me. I repeated the same action with my other leg. After that, I then put my hands on the ground, flipping my legs up again, performing another handstand. This time, I put one leg forward and the other backwards, performing another split. After a while, I opened my eyes slightly but caught Bakugou looking at me from the bench. Seeing him look at me made me lose focus, wobbling a bit, but played it off by quickly putting my feet on the floor. St the same time, Bakugou quickly looked away, turning his attention back to the weights. I straightened my vest, which I'm glad didn't show anything too revealing. It sometimes happened if I was alone. I blushed at the thought of it happening if I wasn't alone. I tried to hide my red cheeks with my red hair, hoping my blush would blend in with my hair. I started to blindingly walk towards the smaller weights, a little closer to where Bakugou was. When I reached forward to pick one up, I came into contact with warm skin. I brushed some hair from my eyes and saw a large hand already around the weight, my fingers trapped under theirs. I looked up and Bakugou's crimson eyes met with mine. For a moment, neither one of us moved, letting our red blushes expand. At the same time, we both retracted our hands, covering our cheeks with our hand.
"Go ahead," we both said, reminding me of when me and Shouto said things at the same time. We both looked at each other again. "Umm," we said again, and tensed up again. Our blush got darker. He picked it up and handed it to me, avoiding eye contact.
"Take it," he said, his eyes twitching slightly.
"Um, t-thanks," I said, taking the weights from him. He quickly turned around and went to another section of the gym, leaving me alone. I quickly fanned my face while he wasn't looking, trying to tone down my red face. I took a deep breath and picked up another small weight. I started to lift both the weights, trying to calm myself down. Soon, I felt my face return to its normal temperature.
"You're doing that wrong," Bakugou suddenly spoke, almost making me drop the weights. I turned to him. He was still halfway to the other section, but he had half turned around to glance at me.
"W-what?" I stuttered. He came closer to me, and I couldn't help but feel my cheek heat up again, but less than before.
"You shouldn't lift them up like that. It doesn't really work," he explained, coming up in front of me. I blinked at him in confusion.
"This is how I've always-" I started, but he interrupted.
"Shut up, and pay attention," he said, suddenly coming behind me. I tensed up my body as his large arms came from both sides of my head, wrapping his fingers around mine again. He lifted his hand, along with mine, to my chest, held it for a couple seconds, then put it back to the starting position, then repeated the same action with my other arm. I slowly forgot that Bakugou was behind me, paying attention to the new workout he was showing me. He was right, this was felt better than before. I loosened my body, making me slightly lean backwards. My back came into contact with his chest, making me tense up again, almost losing focus on my task. However, I didn't move forward again. His body felt so... warm and cosy. It was like my meditation earlier but it felt so real. I loosened up again, falling into a trance of my scenery again, leaning further into Bakugou's back. It was then Bakugou's turn to tense up. However, like me, he didn't pull away. Instead, he loosened up too. I felt his head come close to my shoulder, his spiky but soft hair brush against my head. I could feel his breath hit the back of my neck, and I felt the warmth on my cheeks return. To this point, neither one of us moved the weights. We were too busy paying attention of the warmth of each other. However, soon, my phone rang, startling both of us, making us drop the weights. We managed to grab one each before they hit the ground.
"I-I'd better get that," I stuttered again. Bakugou didn't speak, but stepped away from me. I headed over to the yoga mat where I had placed my phone earlier. It was Shouto. "What?" I said.
"Hello to you, too" replied Shouto. I sighed.
"What's up?" I said.
"It's getting dark, and we're eating soon," he said, making me glance at a clock that was hanging in the gym.
"Sorry, I lost track of time. I'll be home soon," I said.
"Okay, hurry or I'll eat half your plate," he joked.
"Shut up," I chuckled, and hung up. I awkwardly glanced at Bakugou who stood still. "Well, I've got to go," I said, and started to head towards the door to the roof. He still didn't say a word. Instead, he started to follow me to the door, his hands buried in his pockets and his hair shielding his eyes. I could still see a slight hint of pink on his cheeks. Suddenly I stopped. Bakugou almost collided into me.
"Why do you keep stopping?" he growled, lifting his head up and glaring at me with his chin in the air. I didn't face him properly, but kept my head lower to hide my embarrassed face. I don't know why I was thinking of this. Was it because of what happened earlier? I never thought like this? Why now? I tilted my head up.
"You can always come back whenever you want to workout if you'd like," I said, trying to sound confident but a hint of shyness was heard in my voice. His eyes widened, not sure of what to say. "You can easily get in, since no one knows of this place, so I don't bother closing anything. I..." I paused and lowered my head, "I don't mind having you around. Like you said, you wanted to improve your Quirk, so why not help you with that?" I finished. There was silence again. I felt my hands grip my leggings, almost regretting what I said.
"Idiot," he mumbled. I glanced up and saw his head turned to the side. His was scratching his nose with his finger, a tint of pink on his cheeks, and his mouth curved from a frown to a small smirk.
