Class still went on like normal, until it was time for our hero basic training. All Might came in the classroom in an exaggerated manner, as usual, and told us to get changed into our costumes. Separating to our changing rooms, and changed into my new costume, I chatted with the girls for the whole way. We mostly talked about our individual internships and it was interesting to hear. As we joined up with the rest of the class, we were guided to one of the UA training sections for our lesson.
"Okay, I am here," said All Might, standing with his large hands on his waist, "anyway, we'll start now. Right, it's hero basic training! Long time no see, boys and girls! How've you been? For this time's hero basic training... since you've all just gotten back from your internships, we'll have some fun with a rescue training race!"
"If we are doing rescue training, then shouldn't we do it at USJ?" asked Iida, his straight arm flying up into the air.
"That place is for training for disasters," said All Might, "do you remember what I said? That's right! I said 'race'! This is Field Gamma! A dense area filled with factories laid out like an intricate labyrinth. You'll break up into four 5-person groups and go through the training one group at a time. When I send out a distress signal from somewhere inside, you'll all start at once from the outskirts of the city! It's a race to see who will rescue me first! Of course, you'll have to keep damage to buildings to a minimum." All Might's finger slowly started pointing towards Bakugou who stood next to me. Bakugou awkwardly turned his head to the side, his jaw tensing in embarrassment.
"Don't point at me!" he grumbled. I let out a small smirk.
"He's not wrong," I whispered. Bakugou head snapped forward, and his elbow gently nudged me in the side, avoiding my scars. I let out a small giggle, and kept listening to All Might.
"All right, first group, get in place!" he said, and everyone went to their assigned places. Midoriya, Iida, Ojiro, Sero and Ashido were first, while the rest of us stood with All Might in the centre.
"Iida hasn't completely recovered yet, right?" asked Kaminari, leading to me slightly shaking my head, as I had spent a few days with him in the hospital, "he should just watch."
"This group has everyone in the class with good mobility," said Kirishima.
"Hmm, perhaps Midoriya is at a slight disadvantage," Yaoyorozu pointed out.
"That's true," agreed Jiro, "honestly, I'm still not sure how good he is."
"And whenever he does something, he always gets badly injured," added Yaoyorozu. I glanced up at the screen where Midoriya was stretching. Even though we were in the hospital together, his limbs didn't look as torn up like they usually were, or maybe I didn't see it properly.
"Who do you think'll win?" asked Kirishima, "I think Sero'll be first!"
"Mmm, but Ojiro's there, too," said Kaminari.
"I think it'll be Ashido," said Mineta, "she's really athletic!"
"Deku will be last!" blurted our Bakugou.
"Tch, stop it," I muttered, gently nudging Bakugou's side.
"What? I'm not allowed to say my own opinion?" he blurted out near my face. I rolled my eyes.
"We were saying our opinions on who'll be first, idiot," I said.
"Tch, whatever, he'll still be last," he grumbled, gently nudging me back. I returned the action, and he repeated himself. I scowled and glared at him, and he did the same. I ended up using my hip to knock him, and his eyebrows narrowed. "What was that for?" he growled quietly, but I turned and couldn't help but smirk as I stared at the screen, trying not to laugh. Without warning, Bakugou's arm quickly wrapped around my shoulder, bringing me closer to his chest. My head was trapped around his arm but not forcefully. "That'll teach you for cheating," he grumbled quietly, but it didn't matter to me. Sneakily, I wrapped my arm around his waist, and left it there, happy to feel his warmth again after so long of being apart. Bakugou grip loosened and he let his arm fall down to my waist to keep me close. As we stood at the back, no one saw us... thankfully. As we watched All Might start the race, our eyes fell on the screen. Sero took the lead, and this course seemed to be built perfectly for his Quirk. He shot through the obstacles like it was nothing. However, without anyone knowing, Midoriya zipped past Sero, his body flashing with green sparks. My mouth hung slightly open as I watched him jump over obstacles like he had been doing it all his life. However, it wasn't only because I was shocked, but because his moves felt so familiar to me. My eyes turned to the shaking shoulder of Bakugou, his arm trembling against me. His teeth were clenched together and I could feel the anger generating off of him. He hunched over, his eyebrows narrowing as he shook with anger. The only thing I could do was squeeze my arm tighter around him to try and calm him down. After a while it worked, but I could still feel him shaking. However, Sero ended up winning as Midoriya had slipped and fell in the last minute. As the groups went on, it was my turn to try the course. I was with Mineta, Tsu, Kirishima and Jiro. Even though I came first, Tsu wasn't far behind me.
"Congratulations Humura," she said. I blinked at her.
"You used my first name," I said, tilting my head. She nodded and croaked.
"Yeah. I thought it would be easier to call you that and not get your brother mixed up. Plus, you're my friend, and I call my friends by their first name," she said, smiling at me with her tongue out. I blinked again, but hugged her lightly.
"Thank you, Tsu," I said, and we joined the girls as we went to the changing room.
"Urgh, I thought I was gonna win this time," whimpered Ashido, her fists waving up and down. I let out a nervous smile as I unzipped my suit.
"You did very well, Mina," said Tsu, her finger pressed against her chin. I nodded in agreement. I turned to Yaoyorozu.
"You did really well, too, Yaoyorozu," I said, as she had come first in her group. She sighed.
"It still wasn't that good, considering who was in my group," she said as she put on her shirt.
"Ah, but you still came first, along with you, Homura!" said Hagakure, her gloved hands waving around. I let out a nervous chuckle, but noticed Jiro hadn't said much.
"Jiro," I said, but her finger went up. She pointed to a small hole in the wall, and we all froze. Jiro put her one of her Earphone Jack in the wall, and the rest of us fell silent. We began to hear Mineta's squeaky voice come through the wall.
"Yaoyorozu's ample yaoyoro-boobs! Ashido's slender waist! Hagakure's floating underwear! Todoroki's juicy ass! Uraraka's fine uraraka-body! Asui's unexpected boobie-" by then, Jiro had poked her free Earphone Jack into his eye, letting out a muffled scream. I heard a couple of the guys scream in worry, but I could most hear Bakugou roar in anger. I even heard Shouto's voice speak through the screams. I felt myself blush as I covered my body with my unbuttoned shirt, letting it fall past my underwear and show a little bra as I hadn't done it up yet.
"Thanks, Kyoka," said Hagakure.
"How despicable," huffed Yaoyorozu, "let us close this up right away!" I scowled.
"Don't worry guys," I said grimly, and rose my hand up, letting a couple sparks fly out of my palm, "he's getting it after this," I said, and they all smiled and laughed.
"Thanks, Homura!" yelped Hagakure.
"Yeah! Homura's Quirk could deal more damage to that prevent!" laughed Ashido. I blinked several times.
"Are you all calling me by my first name?" I asked, completely not used to people calling me that, unless it was Shouto or the rest of my family. They all looked at me, puzzled.
"Y-yeah, you're our friend, and it's a little easier to tell the difference between you and your brother," said Uraraka, and her hands instantly went up, "Oh, only if you're comfortable with it!" Yaoyorozu turned to me, her eyebrow raised.
"Didn't you have friends other than your brother in Middle School?" she asked, and I shook my head awkwardly. They all glanced at each other, but pulled me into them for a group hug.
"That's okay! We're your friends now!" giggled Mina, her cheeks pressed against mine. I felt everyone's arms around me and I felt so warm. Not from their own body heat, but from the inner warmth I felt around Bakugou, but not the exact same way. With them, I felt more comfortable with myself. I could change in front of them without feeling ashamed or embarrassed, especially with all my burn marks. When we first changed together, they asked me what they were, and I gave a simple explanation of it being caused of me overusing my Quirk, but instead of laughing or thinking I was weak, they asked if I was okay, if they still hurt or when the last time I burnt myself. It felt so different to have people I didn't know for that long to listen and enjoy my company. I felt so at home with them all. I guess I'll have to say their first names from now on. Maybe... someone else's too.
