"Really? You couldn't have picked anyone else? I would have approved of literally anyone but him."
These were the only kinds of sentences that left Shouto's mouth that morning. The whole time he spoke, I didn't mutter a word. I kept my emotionless face glued on as he continued to scolded me while walking to school. It had started since we got back home after training yesterday. When it was time for bed, he would still mutter under his breath about it. The girls were extremely excited but slightly worried about Bakugou. I don't blame them, but I knew their faces would be a lot closer to mine when we're in class together. I could see it happening just from reading their texts they were sending me all day. Even Bakugou had the nerve to message me. I started to scold him about what had happened, but he didn't seem fazed by it. He even said that it's just a reminder for anyone that if they lay their hands on me, 'they'll die', according to him. Shouto kept his muttering all morning, all the way to school. I was so used to it by now, that I just heard it as a flat tone against my ear. When we arrived in the classroom, I walked to my desk, and not within seconds of sitting down, all the girls swarmed me.
"Hello, Mrs Bakugou!" smirked Mina.
"You spend all night texting Bakugou?" joked Toru.
"I still don't understand why you're going out with him, but I'm happy for you," smiled Ochacho.
"It's quite unexpected, but you two suit each other," croaked Tsu.
"Tell us if you have troubles with him and you may talk about him with us," smiled Momo. I raised my hands in nervousness with all their teasing and questions rapidly hitting my eardrums. I didn't know what to do but chuckle nervously. I was slightly relieved when the door slide open as Aizawa came into the room.
"Enough girls, take your seats. It's time to start the day," mumbled Aizawa. The girls all retreated from me and I was able to breath a little. I caught Bakugou's eye as he sat down. He was giving me a small smirk, almost proud that he had announced our relationship. It's like he's showing me off, which I guess is nice, but he had to reveal it in such an embarrassing way. Class went on smoothly, and was over quickly. "Okay, that's it for class," said Aizawa, ruffling some papers he was holding, "there's only one week left until the final exams. You all are studying properly, right? I'm sure you already know, but it won't be just a written exam. There's also a practical component. Make sure you train your minds and bodies at the same time. That's all." He proceeded to close the classroom door, leaving us all alone. Instantly, Kaminari and Mina broke into an outburst.
"I haven't studied at all!" they yelled. Mina laughed nervously, while Kaminari almost looked horrified.
"With the sports festival and internship, I didn't study at all!" he cried, holding his hair stressfully.
"It's true that we had one event after another, but..." mumbled Tokoyami.
"For the midterms, we'd just started school, so they didn't cover much," mumbled Sato to Koda, "so I didn't really have a hard time with them, but with the back-to-back events and stuff, the finals will be different..."
"It'll be tough since there's a practical exam, too," spoke Mineta, his persona almost sparkling as he showed off his rank in the midterm tests.
"N-Ninth on the midterms?!" screamed Mina and Kaminari.
"And here I thought you were one of us!" squealed Mina.
"Guys like you are only likeable if they're dumb..." grumbled Kaminari, "where's the demand for this?!"
"The world, I guess," spoke Mineta, his perverted face looking extremely smug.
"Ashido, Kaminari," said Midoriya, "let's do our best! We all want to go to the training camp together, right?"
"Yes!" said robot Iida, "as class rep, I also have high hopes that you'll all be moved to action!"
"It's pretty hard to fail if you just pay attention in class," said Shouto, placed 5th in the midterms.
"You have the combat skills, but could use some support with the written exams," I said, trying to be supportive. I was placed at the same rank as Shouto, as we scored the exact same results in the midterms. Since it was only the written exams, they couldn't change the ranks for it to make more sense, so just left it with both of us owning the 5th rank.
"Be carefully with your words!" squeaked Kaminari, clutching his heart.
"You two," said Momo, "I may be able to be of assistance with the class lectures."
"Yao-momo!" squealed Mina and Kaminari. Momo suddenly lowered her head in shame.
"I can't help at all with the practical, though," she mumbled, catching me and Shouto's eye. We glanced at her in curiosity, then at each other, unsure of what she meant. She was maybe referring to the sports festival, but I wasn't too sure.
"I'm not one of those two, but can I join, too?" asked Jiro, "I'm having some trouble with quadratic functions..."
"Sorry, me too!" pleaded Sero, "how are you with Classical Japanese?"
"I'd like to join, too," mumbled Ojiro, "there's a bunch of stuff I don't get..."
"Please!" they all said. Momo looked so overwhelmed. I couldn't help but smile for her.
"Everyone!" she beamed, and stood up, "yes, of course! Then, let us hold a study session at my residence this weekend!"
"Seriously? I can't wait to see your house!" squealed Mina.
"Oh, in that case, I must tell Mother and have her open up the hall!" Momo continued, almost bouncing for joy, "what kind of tea are you all partial to? In my family, we always drink Harrod's or Wedgwood, so if you have any preference, let me know! Of course, you can trust me to help you study, too! I will definitely show you how I can help!" I watched as her new students looked warm and fuzzy with her little speech, and smiled at how cute she was treating all of them. I turned my head to Kirishima as he spoke.
"Look at the difference in virtue," he mumbled, his eyes turning to me and Bakugou, who still sat at his desk.
"They're just studying together," I said, smiling, "I'm sure we can help each other, right, Baku-" I said, turning my head to Bakugou, but paused when I saw his face.
"I can do it, too! Want me to beat it into you?" he yelled, his face almost reluctant to offer help but saw it as a competition and had to compete. I was about to speak when Kirishima beat me to it.
"Yeah, I'm counting on you!" he smiled.
"Huh?" I said, almost confused at this proposal, "you're gonna let him do that?"
"Sure," grinned Kirishima, "he's pretty smart, and I'm sure I can take it." I blinked several times, but sighed.
"To make sure he doesn't kill you while doing that, I'll come with you two at some point," I suggested.
"Yeah, this sounds like fun," grinned Kirishima, excited for the session. Bakugou let out a growl, but continued to stare forward. I sighed but smiled at the two boys, wondering how the studying session would turn out.
After lunch, Midoriya told the class that our practical exam would most likely be robot villains.
"All right!" screamed Mina and Kaminari.
"Oh, it'll be easy if it's robots!" squealed Kaminari.
"Yeah yeah!" yelled Mina.
"You guys look like you'd have a hard time controlling your Quirks against people," mentioned Shoji.
"Yeah! But I can just let loose with robots, so it'll be a cinch!" yelled Kaminari.
"And it'll be a cinch for me to melt them!" yelled Mina.
"Now you just need Yaoyorozu to hell You study, and you'll be set for the finals!" mentioned Sero.
"We'll definitely be able to go to training camp now!" they both yelled. I smiled at their optimism.
"It doesn't matter if they're people or robots," grumbled Bakugou, "they're the same if you beat 'em up, right? What're you idiots talking about it being a cinch for?"
"Who're you calling an idiot?!" grumbled Kaminari.
"Shut up!" yelled Bakugou, making Mina and Kaminari freeze, "if you need to control your Quirk, then control it! Idiot!"
"Bakugou," I mumbled, shaking my head and trying to calm him down, but he looked past me towards Midoriya.
"Hey, Deku!" he grumbled, catching Midoriya's attention, "I don't know if you've figured out how to use your Quirk or what, but you seriously keep rubbing me the wrong way." I began to grow a little nervous of what this was turning into, and kept myself close to Bakugou.
"Oh, he must be talking about how Deku was moving like Bakugou the other day," I heard Ochacho say.
"I don't need another half-assed result like at the sports festival," continued Bakugou, "at the upcoming finals, we'll get individual scores, so we'll see who's better whether you like it or not." Bakugou raised his left hand towards Midoriya. "I'll beat you with an indisputable difference! I'll kill you!"
"Okay, that's enough!" I said, pulling Bakugou's ear down so he was bending over. I smiled apologetically towards Midoriya. "Sorry, Midoriya," I said. He looked shocked and waved his hands around.
"O-Oh, it's okay, I'm used to it," he stuttered. I heard Bakugou growl from below me.
"Hey! What the fuck is your problem?! I'm gonna kill you and your brother, too!" he yelled, struggling under me. I walked him towards the door.
"Don't be a baby," I sighed, but Bakugou managed to break free from my grasp, and held my wrist tightly.
"Shut up!" he yelled, his crimson eyes burning deep into mine, "I mean it! I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you!" My eyes widened in shock, surprised at his sudden outburst. Without saying a word, Bakugou let go of my wrist and slammed the door shut in front of me. The whole class was silent. I stayed still, staring at the door, and slowly rubbing my red wrist.
"It's been a while since I've seen Bakugou that intense," mumbled Kirishima.
"Impatience... or hatred?" mumbled Tokoyami.
"Are you okay, Homura?" mumbled Mina, coming near me.
"Did he hurt you?" mumbled Ochacho, reaching her hand towards my wrist. I politely pulled my hand away, and crossed my arms, still looking at the door, this time, with anger.
"Hmf," I grumbled, glaring at the door. Why does he have to act like such an idiot?
