Julie was sitting alone in the cool moonlight when she heard someone come up behind her.
"What do you want, Katherine?" she sighed tiredly.
"I just want you to know," the older girl said, sitting down next to her. "we are still continuing the strike. I talked to..."
"You talked to Jack and made him promise to be a good boy?" She laughed humorlessly. "When will you get it? He says all of this stuff, but it's different from what he actually does. He's just a heartless, lying,"
"Okay I understand," Katherine interjected. "He was only trying to protect the boys... and you."
"Oh sure!" she exclaimed. "Seriously, that's his signature story! It's always But I was only trying to protect them! Well, Newsflash! It's all lies!"
"My father... um... Pulitzer, I mean, threatened him!"
"Pulitzer's your father?!?"
"Um, yeah," she stared at the ground. "I'm on your side though. I don't like him much."
"Alright then."
"Yeah," she said. "Well, you don't have to come for Jack."
"What do you mean?"
"Um, do it for me," she started to blush and whispered something in Julie's ear. "I kind of fell in love with him."
Julie jumped up grinning. She pulled her best friend up with her. "Oh my gosh!!!!" she screamed excitedly. "Congratulations!!!"
"Calm down!" she laughed, her ears a bright shade of pink.
"Well, I suppose I might be able to attend," Julie smiled. "He wouldn't dare misbehave in front of his new girlfriend!"
"Oh shut up," Katherine laughed.
The two set off into the darkness as Katherine explained the plan to a wide-eyed Julie.
