The next day, everyone was set different tasks to do in order get the house as clean as they could. After nearly sixteen years of not being in use it could do with a good clean, after all, Kreacher the house elf who had swelled in t do the many years of its abandonment hadn't done any dusting in that time either.

As Bill and Harley are the curse-breakers in the house they were sent into some of the bedrooms that were not in use first and checked that there no hidden surprises awaiting anyone. A few boggarts here and there were found and dealt with by the two of them and Remus, along with some cursed heirlooms owned now by Sirius.

After most of the bedrooms were checked the couple split up and went to help elsewhere and Harley was soon joined by Madison.

"So, hows life, Maddie? Uncle Lysol mentioned that there might be a man in your life." Harley started as they made there way down a long corridor.

Madison chuckled, "I said that to get my parents off of my case. There is no new man in my life at all. How are you, anyway?"

"I've been alright, can I ask you something?"

"You just did. But go on."

Harley inhaled a deep breath, "do you still love Sirius?"

Madison stopped in her tracks and stared at her feet, "I never stopped. I know what you're about to ask. Why did I break it off then? I was made to promise a few things when I was in sixth and seventh year. And in sixth year I was made to promise something that I couldn't bring myself to break.

I vowed that I would do whatever Sirius told me to. And I did. But because of that everything happened and he went to Azkaban for something he didn't do, James and Lily and Marlene were killed. Evangeline was tortured. Alice and Frank were tortured as well but to the point of insanity. Peter was supposedly dead. Remus was left alone because I was a coward and ran, I left the country and didn't return for years.

I didn't return until Dumbledore found me residing in Denmark and asked me to fill in for Sinistra. I failed at being a godmother to Harry and I failed James and Lily. It's also why I didn't stick around too much after I left Hogwarts. I'm a coward. I'm as bad as Peter... I shouldn't even be here."

Madison went to turn around and leva but Harley grasped her wrist. "You are not a coward! You were broken and the only way out of it all you could find was to leave. No one can blame you for it. After all, you lost most of your friends for crying out loud! And if anyone blames you I will kick them so hard Australians will be greeting them with shrimp off of a barbecue! And don't you dare ever say that you are anything like Peter! Because you are not! Do you hear me? Peter Pettigrew chose his side, he chose to do what he did. He murdered his friends, he framed another and he left the rest broken. He tore you all apart. You did not! You are nothing like him, Maddie, please don't leave, please."

Madison watched as the young girl she once knew stood before her with tears brimming in her eyes. "He really loves you Maddie and would do anything to have you back. It's hurting Remus to watch you guys act the way you are, he may not have told me that but I know my cousin and he is hurting. You have all spent the majority of Harry's lifetime blaming yourselves for what happened when it was none of your guys' fault. James, Lily, Marlene, Mary, Evangeline, Alice and Frank would not want this. And I know for a fact that James would be planning to smash yours and Sirius' heads together. You guys were so good together. Just remember that."

"I hate how wise you are," Madison sighed running her fingers through her short curls.

"Sirius said that too. Now shall we face whatever is in this bedroom?" Harley pointed at the door beside her and Madison nodded.
