Claudia

"Queen Claudia King."

"Charles King."

"How are you feeling?" He asked me lovingly, but I knew better than to fall for his smooth operator act. I was on to him.

"Better than ever." I smiled.

"Really... I expected you to be angry and threatening to kill me and all of that other annoying stuff."

"Then I'm sorry to ruin your expectations. How are you?"

"I'm holding up. Hera is keeping me company."

"I hope so. You've always been such a lonely sob story, I'm just happy you found someone you could lock up as you did with me, and keep as your companion."

"Oh really, so are you saying that you enjoyed being at my mercy?"

I laughed at how pathetic he sounded trying to toot his own horn. Some things did change about him, but one thing that would stay in tact was his ego. Bigger than a whale shark.

"What's funny?" He asked me.

"Nothing important... I haven't seen you in weeks, you must be starved without my food."

"Oh definitely. Especially your beef stew, such a lovely dish. I can't wait until we are reunited so that you can cook it for me."

"Trust me, you will not die without eating it."

"Oh there it is again..." He said dramatically, "... the whole dying thing. Claudia, when will you ever let my death go? All you ever talk about is wanting to kill me, threatening to kill me or waiting for the day you get to kill me."

"I just enjoy the idea of your skull in my hand. Nothing else." I shrugged menacingly.

"You live for me, don't you? All you ever think about is me. Your life revolves around me. Without me, your not Queen Claudia King. You're just plain ol' boring Claudia Bryan."

"I don't know who you're talking about. I'm not Claudia Bryan anymore." I stated as-a-matter-of-factly."

"Oh really... considering the fact that all you ever talk about is how I took the sweet, naïve and innocent Claudia Bryan and I turned her into you, I was expecting that you would scream your lungs out once I mentioned the name. You know, Matthew's name."

He was trying to get to me, and he was using my father. I wasn't going to let that happen, I was stronger than he would've liked to believe.

"Since we are speaking of the past... I remember clearly what a mother's boy you were, so when you found that your own father killed your mother, I was even more surprised to see you sit back and do nothing."

There was silence on the other end, and I found my opening. I knew which buttons to press now. If he didn't want to let me into his head, I'd try to get to him through another way. His heart.

"What are you trying to say to me?" He gritted out menacingly.

"Exactly what you heard. Your father killed your sweet and naïve mother, Mrs. Jacklyn King, and you did nothing about it. You turned a blind eye. You didn't know?"

"Stop lying!" Charles bursted.

"Why would I lie? What on earth would I gain from lying to you?"

"You're trying to get into my head, aren't you?" He said, sounding a little calmer.

"Why would I try to get into such an empty skull. All I'll find in that nutshell of yours are spiderwebs and cracks all over the abandoned space. I don't have the time to be trying to get into your head."

"CLAUDIA..."

"... Charles King, you crossed my limits and now I'm calling to prepare you. I'm giving you a head start. In twenty-four hours, I'll have my daughter back. In twenty-four hours, I'll have my mansion back. In twenty-four hours, you'll be a wanted man. Don't worry though, I'll protect you."

"So you do have a plan?" He sneered.

I chuckled half-heartedly, not because of how smart he thought he was, but mainly because he was so stupid if he thought that I didn't know.

I looked at the large mirror in front of me and smiled, not at my reflection, but at Charles.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you like what you see?" I said condescendingly. I heard Charles gawk out in disbelief and I grinned satisfyingly.

"What the fuck?" I heard Blade whisper out in shock, and I knew that I had them all where I wanted them. Surprised.

"Do you think I don't know that you've been watching me this whole time? Don't you think it's a coincidence that you called Blade continuously and commanded him to wake me up, as though you knew that I was still unconscious? Don't you think it's a coincidence that when I called with Blade's phone, you immediately knew that it was me? I know that you can't believe it, and I understand if it's too hard for you to understand it, but please do keep up. I can't go on throughout this whole phone call explaining everything to you like you're five. And please... say something."

"What would you want me to say?" He asked.

"Tell me that I'm lost. Tell me that I'm blind. Tell me that I won't get everything I want. Tell me that I'm the devil's princess. Tell me that my child isn't safe with you. Tell me that I'm powerless... and that you are powerful. Tell me."

"You won't get Hera back you know, I'll kill her before you get here."

"I want you to know one thing Charles King." I stood up from the bed and walked to the mirror. With one swift right hand, I punched the reflecting object and it shattered into pieces, scarring my bare feat.

Blade tried to get up, but hissed loudly just he took his seat again. I tilted my head to the side and grinned. Hanging up the phone, I looked at the large shattered mirror and said, "You will bow down to me."

The miniature, dimly lit red light which was behind the mirror slowly went dimmer until it switched off, making me grin wholeheartedly this time.

"What just happened?" Blade asked in a choking voice. I turned around and found him gripping his stomach tightly, I immediately felt bad for him. I didn't know how he was going to be able to fight by my side if he was this sore.

"Blade... take me home. Because tonight... history will repeat itself." I announced with a sure tone in my voice.
