Chapter 54: Hatred Justified

I looked at him with such hate in my heart. It was all his fault and finally, after twenty-five years, I'd have my revenge.

"You look like you've had enough, so soon? I told you that I was only getting started." I smirked at him, but he wasn't going to try anything. He looked completely exhausted.

"Why don't you finish it? Kill me." He said, looking completely unlike himself. The Charles I knew would be on my case continuously about how much he just wished he could end me, but this Charles seemed off.

"You'd like for me to make it that easy for you, hey? Kill you now and end your never-ending misery."

"Would you do me the honour?" He cocked his head to the side and I took a step forward.

"What's he doing?" I asked, signalling to Bullet who had been typing madly on the same laptop since I had arrived.

"He's doing something that I asked him to do." Charles said nonchalantly.

"Which is?"

"It's no matter."

"Charles..."

"... Claudia please, you know the cops will be here in any moment and we haven't settled any of our business yet."

"Oh?" I cocked my eyebrow, "What business?"

"You returning my fortune back to me. And getting that stupid organisation away from me, and then getting the hell out of my life forever."

"Excuse me?" I asked, not believing a word he was saying.

"Aren't you tired of fighting? I know I am. I mean honestly... the only reason why you're still here is because you're tied down by the King fortune. So it's honestly very simple, give me back what's mine and I'll leave you alone. We'll never cross paths again and you'll never be associated with the Kings again. You'll be a Bryan again, exactly how it was twenty-five years ago."

"I wonder why you didn't think about doing that twenty-five years ago."

"Don't make this harder than it already is. I want my right back, and you want your life back. Do what God would've wanted for you to do." He said, making me roll my eyes.

"Hearing my Lord's name coming out of your mouth is extremely unbelievable and down right impossible to make terms with. You don't deserve to say his name."

"Now you're just pushing me to ask for death."

"Death is a sin."

He snickered, shaking his head and exhaling. I wanted to know why he wanted to do this all so suddenly when before he tortured me into thinking that I would die by his side. This wasn't the Charles King who frightened me, this was the Charles King I could control.

"What about Hilary and TsiTsi?" I asked, wanting to know what his true motives were.

If he really wanted us to stop fighting, he'd ask for them back. The fact that Hilary was going to marry Zeus soon was just enough emotional abuse for me to use against him. I wasn't done with him.

"I know about Zeus and Hilary. Hera told me." He shrugged, then coughed out violently.

I tightened up my balled fists and readied myself to wage war on him. My suspicions were right, Bullet had taken Hera.
