Chapter 57: King Takes His Final Bow

Two nights ago, everything changed. Hera betrayed me. Bullet was stabbed. Charles was arrested. Everything was taken away from me. My whole family lived an extremely scary life. But now, it was over.

Bullet was fine, he was in the hospital recovering. Hera was by his side continuously, Blade wasn't angry at her. The King mansion was on auction. I was overjoyed because all of my problems were over now.

"Breaking News coming to you live. Business mogul, world famous entrepreneur and son of the notorious Luther King, Charles King had passed away. He died peacefully in a prison cell last night and his body has already been transported to the nearest parlour. Causes of death are unknown. We have been trying to reach his wife, Claudia King, but the family said that she is mourning and would like to be left alone to do so." I chuckled, I wasn't mourning anyone. "More news on any developments coming up."

"What are you watching?" Bhavani asked me as she sat down next to me on the grey couch in the livingroom. Bhavani was my best friend and I felt like I owed her my life.

"Every news channel in the country is talking about his death. I think Blade told them I'm mourning him." I smiled at her.

"He obviously wanted them to think that you still loved him." She said, resting her legs on my thighs. Me and her were close, I allowed her to do such things.

"I'm sure he did..." I said, trailing off of the topic.

"Well... what does this mean for the empire? The fortune? I know that the house is being sold, but I want to know about the rest of the riches."

"You want it?" I smirked playfully at her, and she chuckled.

"You know what I mean." She said light-heartedly.

"You're right. Actually, the papers I signed that night were never really finalised. I found out yesterday. So even though I signed, I still only have half. The other half is in Charles' will."

"Who do you think he gave it to?" She asked.

"Zeus. Mason. Hilary. Hera. Even Estelle is an option. I'll get Blade to set up a meeting with his attorney so that we can find out. I honestly think that Charles changed his will before he went to Australia to find us."

"Before then?"

"I think he was going to give it all to Zeus. In my will, it was all actually Hera's but..."

"... was? What do you mean?" She sat up straight, but still kept her feet on me.

"I want to change it. I've realised that I am a very unfair mother, I've given Hera so attention that I've forgotten about my other three kids. So now it's all going to be divided equally amongst them." I sighed. "I don't know... I guess... I think I'm going to wait to see what Charles' will says. I'll then determine what to do with my estate thereafter."

"That's very fair of you. Since when are you all about equality?" She joked, but I was serious.

"Power can change a person if that person can't handle it. I should know. So instead of giving Hera all of the power, that could most probably destroy her, I'd rather give her support the only way I know how."
