Claudia

While I sobbed silently to myself at the realisation we had just struck, my phone rang. It was a private number, I didn't have to guess to know who it was. I answered anyway.

"Charles King."

"Claudia King."

I stayed silent, I didn't have any questions left in me. I wasn't confused anymore, I knew exactly what was happening. I just wanted my daughter back.

"What? No questions or threats?" He teased me, and I just exhaled. I was losing my strength with each passing moment and I was slowly losing the fight in me.

"I just want my daughter back." I spoke honestly.

"Would you look at how the tables have turned? Karma is a fucking bitch, don't you think?"

"Did you call to boast?"

"Oh, but I haven't won anything to brag about yet. And no, that's not why I called. Actually I just called because your stubborn daughter insisted on speaking to you before we boarded the plane. She utterly refused to leave until she spoke to you so, here..."

The phone was shifted around and once I heard her voice, my heart stopped beating.

"MA!" She screamed out loud, obviously in pain, and shock above all else.

"Hera?! What's happening?!" I shrieked out, feeling my heart missing its beats.

"Ma! Ma, help me! Ma, he wants to kill me! He wants to kill me Ma!" She screamed out so loudly, it had my heart racing faster than the speed of light.

This wasn't fake. I would've known if it was, Hera was actually feeling pain, and he was planning on killing her. Charles was going to kill his own daughter in cold blood, and he wouldn't have a dirty conscience thereafter. I couldn't let that happen. Hera was my everything, without her, I was nothing.

"Hera! What is happening? Where are you going? What has he done..."

"... Claudia calm down. You're making your daughter cause a huge scene." Charles spoke up, making me flinch and pace around again.

"Where are you taking my baby?!"

"I was lonely back home, so I thought that since Hera was with you for so long, she could use some quality 'Daddy-Daughter' time. It's been a while." He sounded so nonchalant and care-free, I hated him more with each second.

"Don't hurt Hera!"

"As long as she behaves then I promise you, she will be safe."

"She can never be safe from you!"

"Obviously."

He hung up. Leaving me shocked.

"Where are they going?" Blade asked me, I hadn't realised that he had taken a seat next to me on the large bed once the phone rang.

He sounded panicky and flustered. He couldn't have been tired already, the war had just begun.

"Home." I said emotionlessly, not because I was trying, but because I was numb.
