Chapter 40: True King

Claudia

"I can't wait to meet them." My mother exclaimed again for the millionth time.

She didn't sound as sad as before when we were back at her house, she sounded almost blissful. Though I too knew that the situation we were in made it near to impossible to be happy for the reunion. At least everyone in my family was together again.

I held my hand on the door knob to my hotel room and noticed that it was unlocked. I left it locked so the only way for it to be unlocked was for somebody inside to do the job.

This put me on edge. I strictly instructed them to stay inside and wait only for me. I pushed the door open and looked at everyone in front of me.

Everyone was panting and pacing around when I opened the door and once they noticed my presence, they all lost their breaths. Athena even choked on her breath, loudly.

"What happened?!" I screamed out in frustration.

I was already angrier than before. I had just calmed down, I had just found my calmness back. And now everything was falling apart, for the umpteenth time. I didn't know what was happening, but it was clear on everyone's face that something went terribly wrong.

I paced my way towards the person I had left in charge, Zeus, and he immediately held his grip on his knuckles and braced himself for my obviously burning rage.

Before I could hiss anything out, Estelle grabbed my arm and turned me around so that I could face her.

"Claudia! You have crossed your fucking line now! I WANT TO LEAVE NOW!"

I slapped her across the face and watched as she stumbled back from the impact and landed painfully on her fat ass.

"Ma!" Zeus grabbed me back just as I almost charged at her and he pushed me away from her, towards a ready-faced Blade.

He knew the full capacity of my strength so his hold on me was tighter than usual, almost as though he was using all of his strength.

"Claudia!" My mother exclaimed at me, trying to calm me down, but in that moment only one person could calm me down.

I looked around. I saw them all, my sisters, their children, their husbands, Blade and Bullet, my mother, Charmoné, Lizzy, Zeus, Athena, Poseidon...

I pushed Zeus away and ran towards my bedroom. Then my bathroom. Then back to the rest of them.

"Where is Hera?" I whispered out in anger and shock. My voice came out rusty and dangerous because I was just too out of control to be able to compose myself.

"We don't know." Someone whispered.

I looked around for the owner of the voice, but everyone covered away from my gaze.

"Answer me!"

"We don't know!" The voice came back again, louder and clearer this time. It was Zeus.

"And why do you not know? I left you in charge and the first thing you decided to do was lose your disabled little sister? What the fuck do you call this?!"
