Rey's POV
I cried as he held me in his arms and for a moment it felt like we were back at the academy. I pulled away after what felt what like forever and wiped the tears from my cheek. "Why do you care so much?" I asked him quietly, not meeting his eyes.
"Because, Rey, I still care about you," he said quietly.
I froze completely. "Don't say that. Please don't say that, Ben." I said quietly.
"Why not? It's the truth, Rey," he replied.
"Cause ,Ben, we're never going to work," I replied quietly. "You pretty much confirmed that I'm going to be executed." I added.
"I can convince them to let you go if you give them the information we need, Rey, you just need to give them the information," he replied his voice shaking.
Ben's POV
I looked at her, silently pleading that she'd agree.
"I can't," she said her voice sounded broken and numb. "Snoke would kill me."
"We could stop him, Kitten, I promised you back in the academy that I'd keep you safe, didn't I?" I replied quietly, realizing after a few seconds that I'd called her by her old nickname.
"Promise?" She asked quietly, looking up at me, her green eyes lit up with hope.
"I promise," I replied with a faint smile.
