Rey's POV
I stood at the front of the room, in front of Leia, Poe, Ben and a few other resistance officials.

"So, you have a plan to take down the first order?" Leia asked me.

I nodded. "Yes, ma'am, it's dangerous though." I replied.

"Well, tell us your plan," she replied calmly.

"The only way to truly destroy the first order is to kill it at its source," I explained. "Which means that we'd have to kill the Supreme Leader, which isn't going to be an easy task, he's constantly being guarded by the praetorian guards who've been trained since they were young. We'd have to send experienced fighters to fight." I explained the plan.

Leia and Han exchanged a look and Poe looked at me skeptically.

"That would be a suicide mission," Leia said after a moment of silence.

"I know, that's why I'm volunteering to go. I'm an experienced fighter, I know the first order inside and out," I replied calmly. "I'd only need one or two x-wing fighters to help me get onto the base safely, after that I can do it myself."

"When do you suggest we do this?" Han asked

"If you could have everything ready by tomorrow, it would be smart to end it as soon as possible." I replied.

"That can be arranged." Leia said.

Poe glared at me. "How do we know that she can be trusted after everything?" He asked.

"Poe, she's literally offering her life to help us win against the first order." One of the officials replied.

"Then its settled, the mission will take place tomorrow at noon, be ready by 11:00, Rey," Leia said to me. "You are all dismissed." She added.

Ben's POV
I sat there in shock as everybody stood up to leave. Did that really just happen? Only a few hours ago Rey had said that she wouldn't betray the first order, and now she had pretty much planned a mission that, if it succeeded, would destroy the order.

I stood up slowly and walked over to Rey, who was discussing the mission with my mother.

"I'm going with Rey on this mission," I said to them both.

Rey looked up at me and shook her head. "No," she said to me softly.

"Rey, it wouldn't hurt for you to have backup in there." Leia said, agreeing with me.

"But- Fine." She said, I could tell she wanted to argue about this.

"Okay, now go prepare for the mission, both of you." Leia said, dismissing both of us.

Rey turned on her heel and walked out of the room, I followed her out into the hallway, once we were away from everyone she turned to face me.

"What in the hell are you thinking?" She asked me frustrated.

"I'm not letting you go into a mission alone," I replied.

"You're a kriffing idiot aren't you? You do realize that there's a good chance that if you come with me on this mission we're probably not going to make it out of there alive, right?" She said.

"I promised you that I'd keep you safe, didn't I?" I replied quietly.

She nodded slightly. "Fine, but if it gets too dangerous or if something happens to me, I want you to get out of there as fast as you can, okay?" She said quietly.

"Okay," I said calmly. "Oh, yeah, and you might need this," I added passing her the lightsaber that I'd confiscated from her earlier.

"Thank you," she said quietly. "We should both probably rest for tomorrow though," she added.

"Okay, come on, I'll show you your room," I said, leading her down the hall and opening to the door to the room across from my own. "If you need anything, I'm across the hall, okay?" I said to her.

"Okay," she said quietly. "Goodnight, Ben."

"Goodnight, Rey," I said to her quietly, pulling her into a hug.
