The Dark Side Of The Light

Chapter Four

Rey's POV

Luke stood in front of the room once again. "Follow me, we will be going outside for the lightsaber training." He said. Everyone stood up from where they had been sitting. We all followed Luke outside of the stone building into the large field. The air outside was quite cold and I regretted not bringing a sweater or something. We walked to the middle of the field and the large group dispersed into the assigned pairs. I stood across from Ben, who was quite a bit taller than I was, or maybe I was just short.

"You all may begin." Luke shouted.

I ignited my lightsaber, the whitish green blade buzzed with pure energy.

"Don't worry, I'll go easy on you," Ben said with a smirk.

I shot him a dirty look. "Don't." I replied with a slight smile as he ignited his own lightsaber, its blade was blue.

Ben's POV

I smiled a bit at her response, although I knew that she had probably never held a lightsaber in her life, she was fearless, and that was actually quite shocking. The bluish white glow of my saber combined with the greenish glow of hers created a beautiful shade of turquoise light, illuminating us.

I swung my saber at her, being careful enough not to hit her with its blade, to my surprise she blocked the strike and countered it. I had to admit, I was impressed. Not many people could do that on there first try.

The battle goes on like this for a little while until I finally managed to knock the saber off the ground and pushed the girl to the ground using the force.

"I think I won," I said with a smirk, holding out my hand to help her up, as I turned the saber off.

"Yeah, I think so to," the girl, Rey, replied as I helped her up.

I look down at the shorter girl. "You did really good today though," he said with a polite smile.

"Thanks," Rey replied quietly, with a small smile.

"Its almost lunch, do you wanna eat together?" I asked her.

"Yeah, sure, why not." She replied with a nervous sort of smile.
