Rey's POV
I smiled up at him. "We should keep walking before someone sees us," I muttered shyly, looking away.

"Okay," he said with a smirk, taking my hand as we walked. I looked up at him again, a little shocked that he was holding my hand. He glanced back at me.

"What?" He asked, holding back a smirk.

I couldn't really think of a reasonable response in that exact moment so I just mumbled, "Nothing," and looked down.

He nodded and we continued walking down one of the many halls on the base.

"How did you convince Leia to let me go?" I asked him after a little while of walking in silence.

"I told her that you'd help us fight against the First Order, and that if you end up betraying the resistance then both of us end up in a cell." He replied after a moment.

I stopped walking and looked up at him. "Why did you do that? Why do you trust me so much?" I asked him, genuinely confused.

Ben's POV
I shrugged. "I honestly don't know, Rey. Why does it matter now?" I replied, glancing down at her, I'd forgotten how much shorter than me she actually was.

"Because, Ben, it does matter! Because most people don't immediately trust the person that is supposed to be their enemy!" She replied frustrated, raising her voice a little.

"I trust you because I still believe that you're the same person I knew three years ago," I replied calmly. "And I'd trust you no matter what, Rey."

She nodded slowly. "Okay," she said quietly, she looked up suddenly, as she used to do when she'd have an idea. "Ben, you need me to help fight against the first order, right?" She asked.

"Yeah, that was part of the deal. Why?" I replied.

"I know how we can take down the first order, but I'm going to need your help," she replied.

I nodded. "Do you want me to call a meeting with Leia?" I asked her.

Rey nodded. "Yeah," she replied.
