Lapis POV

I blush hard when I notice her staring at me, but I don't think she means it to be creepy to be honest I don't care she looks at me the way Jasper used to look at me before we got together. The memories they make me smile, but they quickly turn into memories of just last night him pinning me to the wall and choking me for talking back. But I push those thoughts a side and think on how Peridot looks, her blond hair kind of shaped like a triangle making her look like a smol dorito, you could tell she doesn't get much sun from her pale skin but that makes it easier to see her freckles sprinkled across her face, her green tinted harry potter glasses suiter making her look like more of a nerd than she already is, she looks so skinny like she hasn't eaten in awhile and her baggy clothes just make her look even skinnier and smaller which makes wonder when was her last meal. Everything about this small nerd is amazing, except the bruises on her arms and probably on her stomach. My stomach dropped and my heart stopped when I saw old and fresh cuts up and down her wrists, I guess she could tell I noticed them because she pulled down her sleeves. I was gonna ask her but the nurse came and asked for her, we got up and I helped Peridot to a bed in the nurse's room.

"Jasper again?" the nurse deadpan, Peridot just nodded while trying to get comfortable on the bed.

"Peridot I thought Jasper and you made up" the nurse asked.

"No" Peridot said sadly which broke my heart.

"Listen Peridot, we both know I can't just keep letting this happen and not do anything, is their any family I can call" Peridot immediately shot her a dirty look.

"No there isn't, please just give me some ice and ibuprofen for my head and leave me alone, I'll just change my classes" the nurse nodded and left. I sat on the edge of the bed looking at Peridot as she avoided eye contact.

"Peridot" I spoke softly, she turned her head and looked at me "what did you mean by there is no other family that she could call."

"I don't have any family, parents dead and the rest of the family is dead to leaving just me."

"So you're orphan?"

"No, I live on my own"

"Aren't you too young"

" They said as long as I pay I can live in my house"

"You have a job? What is it?"

"I'd rather not say it, it's embarrassing"

"Are you prostitute" she blushed hard at my question which is hilarious.

"NO!" I giggle as she got more embarrassed.

"I'm only kidding Peri, don't need to get embarrassed" she looks away, I feel like I had upset her, I can just feel how upset she was., I just want to hug her to make up for it. The nurse came back with ice an ibuprofen which Peridot took.

"I'm guessing you come here a lot?"

"When you piss off the school's bully you get your time in the nurse's office quite often."

"What did you do to piss him off?"

"Why are you asking so many questions?"

"Sorry, I'll go" I got up but before I could walk away she grabbed my wrist.

"Stay, it's lonely" she blushed, I sat back down.

"Fine but only on one condition"

"Which is?"

"I want to cuddle".............. did I just say that, crap, crap, crap I can't believe I just embarrassed myself that badly.

"Uh s-sure" we are both blushing hard. I lay next to her and cuddle into her side as she wraps her arm around my waist, I feel so safe and happy something I've never felt with Jasper. I look up and smile at the still blushing Peridot which made me giggle on how easy it is to make her flustered.

She pulled out her phone and put on some relaxing music but it doesn't have any words.

"Chopin" she said which I'm guessing is who made this. It was so peaceful, it just made me melt into Peridot more. I closed my eyes and enjoying this blissful moment.
