Peridot POV
Christmas is the worst holiday ever. I thought the faster you run away from a problem, the pain because less and less. There is no amount of liquor and pills to erase the hurt that is breaking me.
"I'm sorry Amethyst" I felt like I'm holding poison in my mouth, and now it's free but I wonder what's worse? Holding it in and it destroying me or spilling it out and dealing with the damage I've caused.
"Don't talk to me… delete my number… don't even think of me" she sounded heartbroken but anger painted her face. With a slam of the door she was gone.

Lapis POV
If she thinks for a second she can sleep with my sister and I'm not going to confront her, she's dead wrong. The speed limit might be 50 but the anger makes my body boil to 79, or maybe it's the liquor.

Peridot POV

"Peridot Green" a nice lady said on the other side of the phone
"Speaking"
"Lapis Lazuli had gotten into an accident and needed you to come down to the hospital, it's life or death."
"In Beach city?"
"No, emerald city" she's here? Why?
"Why didn't you call her parents?" I grabbed my Keys and headed to my car as quickly as I could.
"You're her emergency contact."

The last time I was in the hospital I almost died, Lapis was too scared to visit me. Now I'm here to see her, too scared to confront her.
"Hey…" her body was stiff and bloody, she almost looked like she was asleep.
"She can't hear you" a voice said softly from behind me, I turned around and saw her… Pearl.
"I know"
"Why are you here"
"Why are you here?"
"I'm her girlfriend"
"And I'm her emergency contact" she snorted.
"Oh that's right, she's been needing to change that after you left her."
"It wasn't like I had a choice."
"You always have a choice, you choose wrong and she paid the price."
"You act like I knew this was gonna help! And if that's true why the hell didn't you stop her from driving."
"Because she never told me, after Aquamarine told her what you and she did…. Lapis cut me off"
"She knows?..." the blood drained from my body, I looked down and saw the pool of blood I am standing.
"Yes" I didn't see her hand, but I felt it…

"BEEEEEEP"

Lapis pov
It's so quiet, peaceful, and bright. Oh god… I'm dead!
"Not yet" a voice that reminded me too much of… nevermind.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh sweet Lapis… it's our job to watch if our child… and no one has made her as happy as you made her. She needs you in her life, although you might be angry right now. It's just right now, and right now will fade into the past and she's not there. Are you willing to lose her over a mistake?"
"I love Pearl, not Peridot"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course… now send me back… please I need to tell her I love her" the brightness faded out into a more familiar room, with both of them. Pearl crying while gripping on my hand, while Peridot is stone face. I know this is the right choice.
"I will always choose you." My voice raspy, they almost didn't hear me. Both faces turned to happiness and shock… but each for different reasons.
"I was so worried, baby…. I love you" Pearl said while wrapping around my fragile body.
"I love you" she hugged me tighter, but she wouldn't if I knew I looked directly at Peridot.
"Merry Christmas Lapis" Peridot said before leaving me alone with a person I never loved.
"Merry Christmas Peridot"
