who crowned you queen of
you think you're too cool
making beautiful look ugly
the way you put yourself above me.

if there were someone to call you and jack "friends", then they were completely insane. any person in their right mind could see perfectly that when you two were together, you smiled and laughed to cover up the fact that you two despised each other.

there really wasn't a reason why. at least, not one that somebody could understand.

you had met jonah at minnesota when you were visiting your cousins for the weekend. you two clicked and became extremely close friends. nothing more. he brought you to LA to meet the boys that he had a made a band with. corbyn had been your bestie other than jonah, zach had been your little brother, daniel had been your sidekick, and jack was your enemy.

you eyed the curly-haired boy as he sat the farthest away from you, next to daniel, that way he couldn't see you. daniel had been paying full attention to you, just like the rest of the boys, instead of listening to jack talk about how the stupid employee at chipotle had gotten his order wrong earlier that day.

although daniel usually always payed attention to jack, recently, he had been showing more interest in you and your stories. jack had gotten used to it by then, knowing that when there wasn't a reply to his story-telling, it was because you were telling a totally more interesting story than him and the boys wanted to know about it.

jack rolled his eyes as he pulled out his phone and texted his sister, ranting to her about you.

jack, calm down.

jack mentally scoffed to himself as he read her texts. sydnie was usually the one to calm jack down, being the oldest sibling. she would side with him and say something like 'yes, this (y/n) sounds like a real bitch. i'm sorry, jack.'

but today was weird. today was different.

it was almost like he was invisible. nobody could see him. and the people who could see him just didn't care.

"hey, jack," jack heard jonah's voice whisper.

jack slowly looked up from his phone, not bothering to give interest to jonah's smiling expression.

jack's actions caused jonah's smiling expression to suddenly disappear as he saw the boredom and carelessness on his face.

the boys always knew you and jack didn't get along very well, but they could never figure out why.

"what?" jack grunted.

"dude, what's wrong?" jonah asked. jack looked around the table and noticed that you weren't there anymore. he would've noticed if your annoying voice was gone, but after time, jack had learned to just tune you out.

"nothing," he muttered. he shook his head and continued to scroll through the profile set on his phone. your profile.

"what are you looking at?" daniel asked, peeking his head over jack's shoulder. jack quickly exited the app and shut his phone off. daniel frowned as he looked at his friend.

"dude," corbyn muttered. "do you know how much of an asshole you're being?"

jack's eyes widened, and although he knew that his expression was probably priceless, he mentally started to laugh.

he scoffed, a small smile appearing on his face. a smile of disbelief. did corbyn really just tell him that?

"excuse me?" he said, putting his phone in his pocket.
