you are bringing out a different kind of me.
there's no safety net that's underneath,
i'm free,
fallin all in.
you fell for men who weren't as they appeared.
trapped up on a tightrope now we're here,
we're free, f
allin all in you.

you felt your arm stretch as you reached up towards the higher part of the wall, dragging your yellow paint-covered paint brush across the barrier. you had been painting the room for exactly four hours, and all you had gotten done so far was a quarter of one of the four walls that made up the room.

the reason to this was because you were currently carrying around a seven month old, two pound baby inside of you. yes, the pain of being pregnant was excruciating, constant kicks and punches against you, not to mention the contractions you'd been having.

but you were happy. you were following a dream that you had been planning with your boyfriend of two years since your sixth month anniversary.

was the baby boy an accident? hell, yes.

you and daniel were only 22 years old. you always had the 2 am conversations about growing up together and getting married and having children. but you never expected to be pregnant at 22.

but it was with the man you loved more than anything in the world. your dream would just have to start a little bit early.

daniel had been out getting you two food while you continued to paint the room by yourself.

you had convinced yourself that you were strong enough to paint a single wall and that you didn't need help. but after you reviewed your work and noticed that you hadn't even gotten the first wall done in four hours, you knew that you could have used some help.

you sighed and remained painting your baby's room the soft honeycomb yellow that you and anna had picked together.

you hadn't noticed it, but daniel had made his way to the kitchen where he set up your chinese takeout and silently walked up the stairs.

as he approached your shared room, closer and closer, he could hear your soft, angelic voice sing the light tune.

"like a river flows surely to the sea, darling so it goes, some things are meant to be," you sang to yourself. you didn't know daniel was home yet.

daniel smiled to himself as he quietly pushed the door open, a small creak making its way to your ears.

you smiled and turned your head to face daniel. he smiled warmly at you and walked to your side, grabbing the paint roller that you had set out for him.

"you girls have good taste," he said as he gently kissed your lips.

you smiled into the kiss. "and you wanted to paint it blue," you whispered back. "cliche."

"always have been," daniel said as he broke away and painted a large yellow stripe on the bare wall.

it was true. daniel had always been cliche. he was a romantic who stopped at nothing to make you happy. for your first date, he brought you roses, and on the second, after learning your favorite flower was sunflowers, he brought you those instead.

on your one year anniversary,  he had set out a picnic on the beach. could it get more cliche than that?

"rosa called me back," you spoke quietly. you smiled as you looked over at daniel, his blue eyes meeting yours. "she said she would be glad to watch the house."

rosa was a close friend of yours that you had known since seventh grade. she would do anything for you, and absolutely adored the idea of you and daniel raising a child.

daniel had bought the two of you tickets to Barcelona, one last trip before your baby boy was due. you had asked rosa if she could look after the house and after your kitten that you and daniel had treated as your child.

"great," daniel said, flashing you a wide smile. the smile that you had fell for.

it was silent for the next twenty minutes. you two might've whispered something to each other, causing the other one to chuckle, but for the most part, the volume of the room remained a comfortable quiet.

it wasn't until you had gotten a wall and a half done that you had stopped. your back was killing you and you just needed to sit down.

"i got chinese takeout downstairs," daniel said as he watched you sit down, your face contort in pain. he felt his heart lightly drop.

you smiled. "why didn't you tell me before?" you said, chuckling. daniel walked carefully behind you, following you to the kitchen.

you sat down on the bar stool next to the counter as you pulled the plastic box of sushi to you.

you heard daniel chuckled as you struggled to open the thing, just wanting to get the food out.

"here, beautiful," he said. you handed the box to him as he easily pulled the lid off from the bottom. "there you go."

you jokingly scowled at him as you took the food and started to chow down. you heard a muttered laugh, causing you to look up. daniel stood across from you, half of an egg roll stuffed in his mouth.

daniel walked around the counter, set his food down, and wrapped his arms around your body.

you swallowed the food you had in your mouth and set your plate down, resting your hands on his forearms. even though you had been sitting on the stool, daniel lightly swayed the two of you.

"we are going to be an amazing family," he whispered. you felt him kiss the top of your head. "even if we are only 22."

"agreed," you said, closing your eyes. you had always loved moments like this with daniel. where you two were as close together as possible, him embracing you with all of his love.

"i think i came up with a name," daniel told you. you opened your eyes and faced him.

"oh, yeah?" you smiled. "what name were you thinking of?"

"i was thinking," daniel said, pulling you closer to him, not minding the bump your baby had made. "connor. connor hayes seavey."

you were silent for a second as you rested your head on daniel's chest. you smiled.

"i love it," you whispered.

"yeah?" daniel asked, looking down at you. "more than isaac?" he chuckled.

you cringed at yourself. isaac was the name you had thought of, truly confident in that name, until one day, you had let go of it. the next day, it was a name that you didn't really like anymore. isaac seavey.

"shut up," you smiled, looking back up at daniel.

you shook your head as you watched him smile down at you, resting your head on his chest once again.

heyyy.

so my life is full of eating way too much Asian candy, spelling mistakes, heartbreak, confusing emotions, loneliness, and crushing on too many boys :)

i really do love being a hormonal girl who can't get her life together.
