4 years later. They live together and have been dating for a year.
"YO, SIMON! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" Jide shouted from the garden, smiling down at the small box beside hid feet.
Simon ran out onto the patio with wide eyes and a heaving chest, "are you okay?!" He shouted, looking at JJ.
Jj nodded and chuckled, crouching down beside the box. "Yeah. I got you a present." Simon sighed in relief but grew excited soon after, trotting over to the box. "What is it?" "Just open it!" Jide grinned, watching as Simon lifted up the top of the box, peeking inside.
Simon released a loud squeal, staring at the small puppy with wide doe eyes. "YOU DIDN'T!" "I did." Simon covered his mouth with one hand and picked up the puppy with the other, sitting down to put it on his lap. "Its so cute." Simon blubbered, petting the puppy happily. "This isn't a prank right? It's actually mine?"
JJ looked down at his boyfriend and changed his position so he was on one knee. "Well, I was hoping it could be ours. I know I've said marriage is pointless and all but after being with you for the past year, I've realized that maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing to legally have you as mine. So... will you marry me, Simon?"
Simon stared at Jide with wide eyes, tears falling down onto the top of the puppy's head. Simon nodded and covered his mouth with both hands. He would have moved to hug JJ but there was a little ball of fur in his lap.
Jide smiled happily and leant forward and to wrap his arms around Simon. The puppy yipped happily, licking at Simons chin.
Simon giggled and pulled back from the hug, holding his hand out to JJ. JJ smiled and placed the ring on the correct finger, he practiced for about 3 days.
Wow, happy endings can be so refreshing.
