As I walked back into the room with Rob and Jerome, I noticed that Lachlan was zoned out.
Lachlan? I said, hesitantly.
What? He said, jumping.
You were zoned out. Everything okay? I asked him.
Yeah, just thinking. He answered.
Okay, just making sure. I said. Also, I got Rob and Jerome.
Thanks. Preston said. We began to talk about possible ways Mitch might have disappeared.
He must have been caught by them. Vikk said. As we all thought about that, I began to feel guilty. If Vikk had never gotten worried about me, Mitch wouldn't have been where he could get caught. But, if that had happened, who knows where I would be right now.
It wasn't your fault. I heard Vikk tell me in my head.
I know that, but I can't help but feel guilty. I replied.
Trust me, everyone else is beating themselves up about it too. He thought. I nodded, and started trying to figure out how to get him back.
Hey guys, would it be possible for us all to 'share' a power? Like how Lachlan can teleport us, even if we can't do it normally, and Vikk can read anyone's mind? I said, causing everyone to look at me.
What do you mean? Rob asked.
Like, if I was to shift into something and I could cause the rest of y'all to end up with the same appearance? And maybe Vikk could get it where we can instantly contact each other? I explained. Slowly, they all figured out what I meant. Want to try it?
Sure, why not? As long as it gets Mitch back I'm willing to try. Jerome said. I began to concentrate, imagining us all as kittens.
Well, I think it worked. Assuming you meant to turn us into kittens? I heard Vikk ask. Opening my eyes, I saw 5 little cats on the office floor. Glancing downward, I saw cat paws replacing my usual hands.
Well, that worked well in the dream, but I'd like to practice in reality too. I meowed, knowing they could understand me.
