Chapter 10

"What are you doing?!" Preston asked me.

"Just trying out something." I answered.

"You need to get to bed. I've heard that someone else may be joining the dreams tonight. I'm not going to tell them about you, but I'll need to warn Vikk about not saying anything about you. I feel like it's your own right to introduce yourself." After the whole talk about tonight's dream, I made him leave the room so I could get ready for bed. I decided to just sleep as a fox, since that was way more comfortable.

**Dream**
Since I was already a fox, I didn't have to bother with the transformation. Running along to the clearing, I began wondering who would be the newbie to the dreams. Oh well, I'd find out when I got there. By the time I arrived, Vikk was already there. I guess Preston was late. Hey, Preston said that there would possibly be a new person here tonight. Don't tell them about me, please. I thought, hoping he'd hear. Sure enough, he turned around looking for me. I stepped out of the shadows long enough for him to see me, and then hid again. He nodded in my direction, just as Preston arrived. Let him know I'm here, I'm waiting for the other person to arrive. Suddenly, another person fell out of a tree. Preston and Vikk both laughed at him, and then helped him get the twigs and leaves off. They all talked, and joked around for a while, and finally I walked up behind them, and sat down behind Preston. Finally the new guy noticed me, and asked Vikk why there was a fox behind Preston. Which resulted in Preston pulling me up between him and the new guy. The guy jumped, and started to move away. Let him know I'm fine. I don't have rabies. I thought for Vikk to hear, and sure enough, he started to calm him down. Who is that, anyway?
It's Lachlan. You didn't recognize him? Oh, so Lachlan joined us. I ran off quickly, just so I could change into a person, and properly introduce myself. Coming back, I walked up to him and said, "Hi, I'm Ashley. You're Lachlan, right?"
"Umm, yes. Why are you here?" He asked me.
"She's my adopted daughter. I thought I told y'all!" Preston shot in. Glaring at him, I went on to explain about the whole me being a fox and teenage girl thing, and helped explain about the dreams.
