Chapter 28

"We could go right now and scout out a new spot." Rob said.

"Yeah, but they'll be expecting that." Preston argued.

"Well, we can't just stop having the dreams, right?" I pointed out.

"True. We could all just chill at the office tonight." Jerome suggested. We all agreed, and Lachlan drove us.

When we got there, we decided that if anyone fell asleep, we would stay at the office and not go anywhere.

**Dream**
I got up off the couch and became a fox as usual. Wandering around the office, I found Preston lounging around in a futon in his office room. Shifting back into a human, I walked over to him.
Did you fall asleep or not? I asked him.
I'm awake, what about yourself? He answered.
I'm asleep. Want to see if anyone else is? I asked.
Sure, I don't see why not. We can't train, so we might as well plan. Preston said, and we walked out to the rest of the office.
Lachlan's POV
I yawned, wondering how we even got any sleep when we had the dreams.
None of us know. My guess is that it's because we're still physically in our beds. Vikk said. Jumping at the sound of his voice, I turned around and saw him standing there.
Is anyone else asleep yet? I asked him.
I think Ash is asleep, and Preston is awake. I don't know about Mitch or Jerome. He replied, reminding me of something.
Wait, when did you last see Mitch? I asked.
He can turn invisible... Vikk started to say.
Exactly. When we got to Preston's house, he should have been visible. But he didn't, so where is he? I said, proving my point.
Where is who? We hear Ash ask, as she walks in with Preston.
Mitch. We haven't seen him since the whole fight in the clearing. I said.
Someone needs to get Jerome in here. He probably ought to know. Preston said, thinking of others first.
I'll get him. Want me to get Rob too? Ashley asked.
Sure, just make sure you come back. Vikk said. As she got up, I began to think about how she just perfectly adapted to all of us. It had probably been about a month since she started having the dreams, and almost the same amount of time since she was adopted. Yet it was hard to remember a time before she came, and all the strangeness started.

A/N sorry this was so late! It's my first day of high school, so like I've said before, don't expect these everyday anymore. I'll be doing my best, but things happen.
