Chapter 30

Opening my eyes, I find myself back on the couch. I wonder if everyone who was already awake at our Mitch meeting is still a kitten. I thought to myself. Walking out of the room, I find Jerome.

"So, you were one of the people that was asleep for the transformation?" I asked him.

"Yep. Hey, I think I saw Vikk walk this way." He said, pointing to the left.

"Thanks. I'm going to have everyone meet in the room with the couch, so if you see anyone, let them know." I say, walking out. Turning left, I find Vikk and Lachlan sitting in a bed.

"Hey guys, I'm having everyone meet in the room with the couch." I tell them.

"Okay. I don't know where Preston went, but Rob was asleep in a different office room." Vikk said.

"Thank you." I said. As I stepped out, I found Preston turning the corner.

"Hey Preston, I'm having everyone meet in the room with the couch." I told him.

"Ok, is everyone else there?" He asked.

"Everyone but Rob should be there." I responded. I walked off, looking for the office Rob might be in. Finally finding him, I told him the meet up location, and we went over there.

"So, I want to try shifting everyone into an animal in real life. Any suggestions?" I asked.

"How about kittens again? I mean, you already have some practice with it, so you might do better at that." Lachlan suggested. Closing my eyes, I decided to try something. I imagined them as squirrels and myself as a kitten.

Hey, why aren't we cats, and you are? Vikk asked.

Because y'all just got PRANKED!! I answered, opening up my eyes. Sure enough, five squirrels were looking at me. Purring, I got them back to people, but before I could shift, they had grabbed me.

"If you're pranking us, we are SO getting you back." Preston said, laughing. They filled up the bathtub and tossed me in. Shifting into a human, I began to get mad at them.

"Y'all realize I don't have a change of clothes with me, right?!" I griped at them. "Besides, if I go back to Preston's house, how am I supposed to explain this to Brianna?"

"You could just say we were having a water gun fight." Rob suggested.

"Okay. Preston, will you drive me back to the house so I can change clothes?" I asked him.

"Sure. Be back in a sec!" He said as we started leaving.

Letting Preston deal with Brianna, I raced upstairs and changed. I also decided to grab an extra pair of clothes just in case something happened. Hey Vikk, I thought, hoping he'd hear me.

What? He asked.

Do y'all have a washing machine and dryer at the office? I asked him. There was a short pause before he answered.

Yes, why? He said.

Just in case something happens again. I responded. Not knowing how long I'd be at the office, I grabbed a bag and put my laptop, its charger, a few books, my sketchbook and pencils, and my change of clothes in it. Grabbing my phone, I walked out the door, ready to go back to the office. Suddenly, I got a text. Glancing down, I saw that it was from Preston, and it said hey, we decided to postpone ur party because of the whole Mitch thing. Can u tell your friends that? I replied saying yes, and then emailed them letting them know. Sighing, I went downstairs.
