As I headed to the bus stop for my first day of tenth grade, I began to think about what all had happened nearly a year ago. Since then, I continued to grow closer to my new family, and we haven't been threatened by those scientists since.
Suddenly, I felt someone grab me, and I whirled around to find Liam. I began laughing, and he did the same.
"Do you need something?" I joked.
"Not necessarily, but I want something." Liam replied. He had never replied like that before, and suddenly curious, I asked him what. "Will you go on a date with me?"
"I would love to, and I'm sure my parents would be fine with it, but I'll ask just in case." I replied after a short pause. I texted Preston, he soon replied with, (K, just be safe and if anything happens, you know what to do.) "Yep, I can come. And you choose the place. Now hurry, or the bus is going to leave us!" I said, and grabbed his wrist, pulling him onto the bus. We may have only met almost a year ago, but it felt like we had known each other for years, and I had the feeling the date tonight would be the best thing to happen to me so far.
