When we got back to the office, we found everyone trying to comfort Jerome. What happened? I asked Vikk.
He's really stressed out about Mitch right now. He was having a panic attack right before y'all walked in. He said. Obviously Preston was told the same thing, because he rushed over to Jerome. Standing awkwardly to the side, I sighed, thinking about how I had known these guys for nearly a month now, but all I really know about them is stuff I learned online. I felt strangely disconnected from them, yet at the same time felt like I had known them for years.
Preston's POV
Rushing over to see if Jerome is ok, I noticed Ashley quietly walk over to a wall and sigh, looking at us. Oh well, I'll ask her about it later. For now, we need to help Jerome.
"Hey there, everything okay?" I asked him, trying to have a soothing voice.
"No...sniffle... nothing is ok." He said, continuing to sniffle.
"Don't worry, we're here for you. And we'll have Mitch back very soon. Trust me." I said, causing him to look up at me.
"I will do whatever it takes to get Mitch back. Whatever it takes." He said, staring at me.
"I know you will. I know you will." I say, rubbing his back, calming him down. I wonder where Mitch is...
Rob's POV
Watching Preston calm Jerome down, I think about how much he is like his power. Fire keeps us warm, and we love it for that, yet at the same time, it can destroy just about anything. Maybe all of our powers are like us in some way. Vikk has either always had his power, or is just good at reading people's body language, because he always seems to know what's wrong. Lachlan always seems to be able to just appear at just the right moment, just when he's needed. Mitch will make himself known, but is the king of hide and seek maps because he can be so quiet. But when it comes to Jerome and me, I really don't know how we are like our powers.
Vikk's POV
I hear Ash sigh, and instinctively tune into her thoughts. Listening in, I realize that we've all been so busy with our channels and our powers that we haven't had that much time to get to know her. If things were different, maybe none of this would be happening. Oh well.
