Glancing up, I see Vikk watching me. He quickly looks away, having obviously been listening to me.
Can you leave me alone? I asked him.
Sorry, you just looked so sad. He replied. I sighed again, and went back to thinking. The weird thing was, I knew that even though I barely knew them, I would trust them with my life. Which was a huge step from when I was in the orphanage. I had gone from having major trust issues to trusting six guys completely in maybe a month. But still, all thoughts and memories aside, we needed to find Mitch and get him back.
Mitch's POV
As I looked around, I saw a boy watching me. He looked about the same age as Ash, but that's where the similarities ended. While they both had brown eyes, his were cold while Ash's eyes were warm and loving."Who are you?" I asked him.
"It doesn't matter what my name is." He said, still watching me. Feeling confused, I felt my conscience begin to slip, enveloping me in total darkness.
Lachlan's POV
"Hey guys, we still need to work on how we're going to get Mitch back. Since Liam is obviously working for them, they probably have him watching me. Which means we have to do this on a long weekend so he doesn't alert the people that I'm missing." Ashley stated. We all nodded, finding good reasoning in her words. But, I knew I was still worried about her, because she was obviously in the most danger."Are you sure you'll be okay?" I asked.
"I should be fine, plus I have the phone you gave me." She said, pulling it out.
"Please don't risk the fox ears again." Preston said.
"I wasn't planning to." Ash replied.
"Well, now what do we do?" I asked. "We probably shouldn't stay holed up in the office all day, but if we go somewhere, that could result in someone else being caught."
"Lachlan, you worry too much. They're probably going to use Mitch as bait, and lure us in to get us all." Vikk said. I gave a sigh of defeat, and we all headed out to Preston's car.
"Shotgun!!" Jerome yelled. We all just looked at him. "What? I just want to ride shotgun." That resulted in all of our tension breaking, and we all burst out laughing.
Ashley's POV
We all laughed until our sides hurt. Finally, we climbed into the car, and we were able to just relax and chat. Finally, we aren't trying to act stronger than we are feeling. I feel like Mitch would rather us just relax and not waste our time worrying about him. I thought.I feel the same way. But I think I'm probably worrying the most, even though I told Lachlan that he was worrying to much. I've been trying to contact Mitch, and he won't respond at all. Vikk said I turned, and looked at him, trying to show all my emotions at once. All of us had been worrying about little things, while Vikk had been dealing with the fact that he couldn't contact him.
When we arrived at Preston's house, we all climbed out, smiling.
"Wait, Preston. Does Brianna know anything about Mitch?" I asked, causing everyone to stop.
"I told her the other day when we came to get you dry clothes." He said. I nodded, and we all continued to walk inside. inside. Opening the door, the scent of fresh made waffles wafted out. We all breathed in deeply, savoring the aroma. "Brianna! We're back!" He said, raising his voice just enough so that he could be heard from anywhere in the house.
"Took you long enough. I was worried I'd have to eat all these waffles by myself." She said, smiling. "Here, why don't y'all go get something to eat, while I y'all with Preston." At these words, we all raced towards the kitchen, following our noses.
"Ladies first!" I said, laughing. Grabbing a waffle, I proceeded to pile it with whipped cream, and fresh fruit. Sitting down at the table, I dug in.
"And I thought I ate a lot." Rob said.
"Nah, you have to have the right kind of talent." I said. Quickly glancing around to make sure Brianna wasn't nearby, I continued talking. "Shapeshifting takes away a lot of energy, therefore I have to eat more than normal." They all laughed at me, when Preston finally walked in.
"Wait, what did I just mi- Ashley, that is way too much food!" We all burst out laughing again, and Preston just stood there, confused. Finally, realization dawned on him, and he simply walked over and got himself a waffle.
Did you tell him? I asked Vikk.
Yeah, he was begging me. He said. I rolled my eyes, and we all continued eating.
A/n I'm so so so sorry for missing two days in a row!! I feel so bad for it. But I did give y'all an extra long chapter!
