Chapter 03 | Odelia
I sat beside Vidan in a long, flowing navy gown that hung above my knees. Not to mention velvet black heels clung to my feet which matched the ribbon that tied my flowing blonde hair back into a curled pony tail.
Although, I wasn't the only one being tortured in these fancy clothes. Vidan, had replaced his usual lose shirt and slacks for a pair of tight black jeans and a button up with a black silk jacket. His hair had also changed from its usual messy locks to being brushed and gelled back.
We brewed silently, watching Johnathan as he rambled on about borders of hell or something. Neither one of us enjoyed these damn lessons but mom loved to throw us into 'royal' clothing and make us pretend to be prince and princess.
Vidan sent me a side glance, We are prince and princess.
I rolled my eyes as his voice filled my mind. I didn't care much for the title as I certainly didn't act like a princess. The only aspect of that title I enjoyed was being spoiled but I preferred weapons and armor over dresses and make up.
Vidan snickered Brat.
"Jerk," I muttered under my breath.
A ruler sailed through the air whacking me. I yelped, turning my head to watch the ruler swing towards Vidan who dodged it. My eyes narrowed as he sent me a smirk. However, blind or not Johnathan must have heard my muttering because he held the damn ruler and a scowl played on his face.
"If you both spent the same amount of effort studying as you do communicating then you both would be fit enough to rule one day," he hummed, tapping the ruler against the palm of his ruler.
"But sir I wasn't talking, it was all Odelia," Vidan whined.
My eyes narrowed as he sent me a wink. This time the ruler did hit the side of his head. He yelped, his eyes growing wide as Johnathan shook his head. I snickered.
"Don't try and fool me boy. I've known Saanti for years, I know the smell of your whispers towards your sister's mind," he sighed, wandering back to the front of the room.
My mood brightened as Vidan sulked. And Johnathan continued his lesson, his long dark hair pulled back into a pony tail and his grey skin clashing against the black suit he wore. Dad said that Johnathan was once the governor of the noble warriors and council member but I couldn't see it. In my eyes he was just an old, strict man who was now our tutor.
Just like grandad. He was apparently a terrifying king who won wars without even lifting a finger and I realized that must be true however, I couldn't imagine the chirpy man ever lifting a finger for ill intent.
After another hour dragging out Johnathan slammed his brail book shut causing me to flinch. Vidan tilted his head glancing over towards me with amusement and I flipped him off.
"For the love of hell, just leave. You two are testing my patience," Johnathan sighed.
"Sorry sir!" I cried happily.
