Chapter 30 | Vidan
I left the palace as soon as I could. With Lola at my side, we came across Poppy who also wished to tag along. I wouldn't refuse the fortune teller's request. Lola did not seem angry with her company – I wondered what had transpired between the two on their previous encounters.
And then of course Eric was here too.
Those thoughts vanished however, the moment we reached our destination. I reached the grounds of Kardenal's warehouse I was met with a pile of ice and stone. The only thing that seemed to have survived was, surprisingly, the elevator. Panic and fear raked through my body as I realized Odelia had reached the place before me. However, my panic and fear turned to anger as my eyes fell onto the three angels standing in the midst of the rubble.
They were all dressed in chain armor of holy silver. One of the men had long white locks pulled back, he held a large, golden hammer in his grasp and seemed to be talking in a hushed tone with the other man. The other man, held a golden sword and had pure gold eyes to match his weapon. Finally, the oddest of the trio. The angel that took the form of a small child. She did not seem to have any weapon on her. However, did have long white locks and pure gold eyes.
I tensed, as their eyes landed on me. They didn't move. I realized I would have to make the first move and that made me nervous. However, with little choice I knew now was no time for nerves. I stretched my power to Eric, Stay here while I talk to them. Do not engage in a fight, Eric if need be, take the two girls to safety.
"Understood," Eric replied under breath.
Satisfied they were safe, I made my way over to the three. I stopped a few feet away – but even with distance between us I could feel their immense glory radiating off them. These weren't just ordinary angels (if there was ever such a thing), these ones were of high rank.
"My name is Vidan Azul – daughter of Lucifer and Cloud Azul. I am, at the moment, current king of hell. I was sent to greet you and ask you not to cause further damage. I do not sense any glory in the rubble – I hope you didn't do this?" I spoke carefully.
The one with the sword snickered, "And if we did? What would a demon do?"
I clenched my jaw, "I am the current king of hell. I do not wish to threaten you however my sister is somewhere here. You better have not harmed her."
The one holding the hammer placed a hand on his company's shoulder. He took a step towards me, a soft look in his eyes. He seemed more reasonable of the two, and I took his responds as a good sign.
"I am Michael, king of the Almighty. This is Raphael angel of judgement, and Seraphim the guard of the almighty. We have come to personally deal with Cronas fallen angel of practice. Unfortunately, the angel of construction was right in her words," he replied with a scowl.
I cocked my head, "Then who destroyed the warehouse?"
"It was like this when we got here," Michael shrugged.
"Cronas is under the ground. Along with three others," Seraphim's voice was soft and quiet but her words were not ones any of us could have missed.
I tensed. Stretching my power downwards I could not feel anything. My eyes looked at the child angel as I frowned. She was the guard of the almighty? And such power to have felt Cronas however deep he might be, she was a being to be wary of, this I knew.
Behind me there was noises of distress – however I didn't exactly want to turn my back to the angels. Eric was with them, they would be fine. Poppy moaned loudly.
"She's seeing," Seraphim hummed.
At that I turned. No longer caring about the angels, I scooped Poppy into my arms bridal style. Lola's teeth dug into her lip as she touched Poppy's pale forehead tenderly. Eric took a stance in front of us as I dealt with Poppy.
"What do you see?" I asked brushing her wild curls off her face.
She shook her head, and I pushed my power towards her. Her own power glowed a deep violet. I caressed it gently not wanting to force it like last time. Her power curled around me – it was warm and seducing. Strong too.
"What do you see?" I repeated, urging her.
Her eyes flung open and she was suddenly staring at the elevator. She stood, pushing me away from her as she moved through the rubble. I followed after her, keeping one hand on her hip worried in her trance she'd hurt herself.
"We need to follow them," Seraphim mumbled briefly behind us.
And that's how three angels, and fours demons ended up stuffed in an elevator listening to classical music. Poppy expertly moved what seemed to be a hidden panel, and pressed a small red button that read: Home.
For some reason the simple word had me extremely worried. As soon as Poppy hit the button she dropped slack in my arms. I grunted, catching her then handing her gently to Eric. Finally, the doors opened revealing...a meadow under hells surface?
"The limbo?" Raphael gasped.
Michael hummed, "No. We are still in hell. This is a replica."
I ignored them, my eyes scanning the vast grassy field until they landed on Odelia. She was filfy from head to toe but seemed otherwise unharmed. My sister's eyes were hard and the remains of tears were drying on her face.
A disgusting wave of relief hit me as it was clear she would not be siding with Cronas. Who, stood away from her with a strange, light blue skinned demon. Black swirls decorated her body and she held a dagger which gleamed crimson. Who was hurt?
I pressed my power over to Odelia. Her eyes flickered to me and she allowed me past her fortress. Abigale. Cronas' goon killed Odelia's fox friend. I sighed knowing Odelia's heart would be hurting.
Irone will throw a festival in her honor, I sent her. A faint smile stretched onto her face and she nodded. Behind me the angels talked lowly however I didn't bother with their plans. My sister needed me.
Cronas glanced bored at the angels and I took that as my chance to dart over to Odelia. I stood in front of her and pulled a handkerchief from my pocket. She allowed me to wipe her face and I smiled slightly. You are going to be queen, I told her, don't cry. And if you need to don't waste them in front of scum. You know you will always have one of my shoulders, do not be afraid to rely on me. I love you Delia, you're my favourite sister.
She laugh-hiccupped, "Thank you brother."
"Yes, yes. We don't care," the blue demon sighed waving her dagger around.
My eyes narrowed as I faced Cronas and his pet. I was not impressed. In fact, the demon had no place talking to my sister nor me. We were royals – and she was so beneath our status. The demon's mouth opened once more however I was done talking to her. I flared my power out. It slammed into her weak mind and she was thrown backwards with a strangled scream.
"Tsk. I gave Odelia permission to punish Lila, not you," Cronas hummed unmoving.
I pushed my chin up and cocked my head, "Unfortunately, Odelia is no longer your concern. Whatever you want with my sister is not going to happen, and you will fall. Here and now. Time is up for you Cronas."
Cronas' eyes flickered over to the angels who were slowly making their way closer to him. His eyes rolled before he smirked – a deadly one, full of malevolent.
"We will see about that."
