Chapter 18 | Odelia

"Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck," I whispered frantically as I ran down the hall.

The dark hall which my bare feet slapped loudly against as I ran. I was only thankful I had taken off my shoes before my grand escape. At the end of the dark hall, I spotted a metal door which reminded me of the dungeon. The one place I was always too afraid to break into.

But, that metal door did not lead to the dungeon, and considering it was the only metal door so far I was not going to hesitate to get the fuck out of this place. This dark and cold place. I ran full force into the metal door – it fell all too easily, and I was in a small, closet.

Hesitantly, I pushed the closet open – revealing some kind of walk in freezer. I grimaced at the pig bodies and shoved my way through the freezer, my feet were freezing and I was eager to go home. At the freezer's door I slowly pushed it open. Revealing a run-down butcher shop that stank of fresh cut grass and blood.

I recognized this place, it was about four blocks away from the arena. I had always found this butcher shop strange, with a lush front yard full of green grass. It was definitely out of place for the Debil district.

"Oi you! Who let you out?" The tiny voice had me looking at the tiny, fat man at my feet.

Gordo.

My eyes narrowed, and without thinking my leg moved forward. I kicked him hard – like a ball – and he went flying and shrieking right through a glass window. Not spotting anyone else in the small shop, I then bolted for the door. Fuck this shit.

I flung open the door, running straight into something hard. I looked up slowly, up to a handsome man's face. Beautiful, sparkling eyes, with chiselled cheeks and dark hair. I recognized him, and took a fearful step back.

Madrok.

"I'm running into all the monsters today, aren't I?" I sneered in attempt to hide my fear.

He laughed darkly, stepping into the shop and shutting the door behind him. I swallowed harshly, pushing my palms on his chest making him pause slightly, and I turned on my heel. Only, when I turned, there was a new form in the door way of the freezer.

I gasped loudly, the man in the door yawned lazily, he looked like a beast demon, with black scales covering his entire body. A long black tail, swayed slowly behind him and his glowing beastly eyes slowly slid over to me. He grinned, showing off a mouth full of razor teeth and in a fluent motion, a long red tongue flickered out to lick my face.

I had been standing across the room.

I quivered, as the thing rolled his shoulders back. Two wings bursting from his back – one made of black feathers but torn in half, the other made of dark, stretched skin. Instantly my back was turned to Madrok – and I gave zero shits. My eyes were purely on the thing in front of me.

"Draco, it seems our guest escaped," Madrok purred smoothly.

Draco's head tilted, he stuck his hand out. The bones in his hand stuck out, bones cracked, blood splurged and his hand bending and twisting into a gory, bloody dagger. My eyes bulged and I took a step back right into Madrok. I yelped, attempting to move but Madrok's arms wrapped around me. Holding me in place against his warm chest.
