Chapter 13 | Vidan
"Good morning Lola, how are you today?" I hummed, spotting the wolf demon walking down the hall with a beautiful smile upon her face.
She looked over at me, surprised but not unpleasantly, "Good morning Prince Vidan. I am well, Sir Eric brought me breakfast. How are you?"
My eyes flickered with annoyance towards Eric and I could already feel my mood dampening. It was growing clear to me that I'd have to share a cautionary word with Eric eventually about his actions. Either that or, rip his arms off and beat him with them.
"I'm glad you and Eric are so close," I all but growled.
She giggled, raising a brow, "Green isn't a good look on you."
"Very funny, have you seen my sister?" I grunted not enjoying her jokes.
"Not since yesterday."
I frowned not at all liking her words. Especially since I had previously asked her to constantly be on Odelia's heels. Clearly, she was too busy hanging out with Eric to do her job, I gritted my teeth at that thought. It was a stupid thought I knew it, yet I still couldn't help the annoyance towards Eric.
"Let me know if you see her," I sighed.
My sister, nothing but trouble. I don't even know why she didn't come home with me yesterday. These secrets she was attempting to hide were becoming very, very annoying.
Shopping she had said. As if I was fucking stupid. I knew very well Odelia would rather gorge out her eyes than go shopping. I turned on my heels and began walking towards father's office. I wasn't about to go on a manhunt for her, if anyone could find her it would be father.
Reaching father's study only seemed to hyphen my concern. Asking every maid on the way if they've seen Odelia lately and every one of them didn't give me a reassuring answer. I banged my fist on his door, throwing all class I had out the window. I could sense him inside and I'm sure my aggressive knocking would give him a hint of my current mood.
"What's wrong?"
The door swung open and father looked at me, concern dancing through his eyes. I could see the tiredness rimming his eyes and no doubt having his own worries about mother was taking its toll however; this was a much bigger issue. Mother could take care of herself, Odelia couldn't even make herself a hot chocolate without spilling the pot or burning herself.
I stormed the office, pushing him inside to close the door behind us. If something was wrong – like I thought it was – then no one could know that the princess was missing. That would only cause chaos that we couldn't be able to control.
"Where is Odelia?" I demanded.
His eyes widened, then he blinked slowly, "Did she take a trip to the arena?"
"The arena is open at nights, and I had someone trailing her – I would have been told if she did. She hasn't returned since yesterday – she would have never dared to go to the arena in that dress," I growled.
"I'm sure she's somewhere, you know how she is," he shrugged.
I kicked his desk – it slid across the wall then crumbled into pieces. Paper flew up into the air as I spun on my heels to face him. His face was guarded and calm, it annoyed me how calm he was being considering the circumstance.
"The angels could have taken her, why are you being so calm?" I snapped.
"What would be solved if we were both acting irrationally," he sighed, "if the angels had taken her they would have done it dramatically. I'll talk to Caden and see what he knows. First we need to know where she had gone yesterday if it wasn't shopping. Once we get information we will figure out our next move. We cannot panic."
