Chapter 10 | Cloud
We were apparently in the East Triste Forest. Obviously due to the current fox clan we sat in. Large yellow tents with barely dressed fox demons prancing around. And on her very own throne dressed in leathers of a warrior was Irone.
"I don't understand why you'd want to stay here for a few days Cloud," she spoke confused but not unkind.
Abaddon took a step forward, "I am taking Cloud to The Almighty however she needs to prepare for it due to the risks. Here, is the most suitable spot to do it considering your clan."
Irone arched a brow and smirked darkly, "What about my clan exactly?"
"Your people live by instincts and survival. Cloud will need to learn that in order to not die travelling to The Almighty. That place is no place for humans, I suspect either one of two things will happen: on the way all of Cloud's human soul will perish and she will become entirely stronger and be born into an angel or she will die. The outcome will depend on where she does her training," he spoke unbothered.
A cold shiver ran down my spine but I refused to let his words shock me or scare me. Keeping my head up high Irone's eyes slid over to mine. She had not hid her apparent shock and fear. Instantly that turned to pure rage and she curled her claws, slamming her hand into the side of her throne of sticks and vines.
"And you agreed to this? Did Lucifer? This sounds like madness!" She snapped.
I flinched but refused to lower my gaze.
"I know Irone, but I need to do this, without it I'm dying anyways," I said softly.
Recognition and guilt played on her face and she sat down – avoiding eye contact with me. A very small few of people knew about my strength withering away and unfortunately for her, she was one of those very few.
"Stay as long as you'd like," she spoke quietly.
"Thank you Irone," I breathed with a smile.
She waved me off, and we turned to leave.
"Lacy will show you were you'll be staying and she'll tend to any of your needs," she paused to look back up at me, her eyes hard with determination, "don't you dare die Cloud."
"I won't."
It was a promise to her and to all those who were counting on me returning safely. I wouldn't dare die, not when everyone was waiting for me to come back safely and quickly. She nodded accepting my answer. Then Abaddon and I took our leave through the tent's flap.
"Why will the training only take a few days?" I asked Abaddon once we were outside.
He sighed deeply, "because in order to do it you need to let your angelic form through and that will only survive a few days in hell before it kills you."
I stopped walking and looked at him with wide eyes, "Angelic form?"
He simply nodded.
"Cloud!"
A giggling voice turned my attention over to where Lacy was skipping towards us. I noted she had traded in her own armor for one of those scandalous outfits of a leather skirt tied around her waist with her boobs held back in another band of leather. I smiled at her.
"Hello Lacy, how are you?" I greeted warmly as we began to follow her through the forest and tents.
She laughed, "Wonderful! Once Irone goes back to being Caden's advisor then I'll get to be the clan leader and the guard of the east gate."
"That's awesome!" I cried happy for her.
She giggled, as we stopped in front of a yellow tent that had a star painted on the side. She pulled the flap back and gestured for us to go in. We followed and she entered after us, letting the flap fall closed.
"This is normally Caden's tent when he stays over but he long moved out so now it'll be yours," she informed us.
I looked around spotting a bed of furs on one end and a small table covered with candles and books. A hand woven red and gold rug lay across the floor covering most of the dirt ground and I noted a large wooden carved tub in one corner which I figured out was the bath.
"Will Abaddon and I be staying together?" I asked curiously.
"No, once you release your angelic form I cannot be near you. Or my own angelic form will come through and this entire clan will burn up from the amount of glory I would unintentionally release. You will have to do this all on your own," he paused handing me a folded letter, "this will be your guide. You need to work on having your angelic form out for many hours and once you do then you will be ready to go. You have a week's time to figure it out."
And with that he turned and left the tent along with leaving me completely and utterly confused. What the fuck was I supposed to do exactly? I looked over at Lacy who merely shrugged in confusion. Awesome, so no one knew what the fuck the angel was talking about.
"I'll get you a bath ready and something to wear," Lacy sighed patting my arm.
I smiled at her, "I fucking need one after this shit."
After a week's time I'd either be stronger or dead – so either way whatever happened at least I wouldn't feel terrible. On one hand, obviously I'll be ecstatic if I survive and become a fucking badass and on the other hand, the dead couldn't mourn or feeling bad.
Although, I had no intentions of dying. My fingers tightened into a ball and I gritted my teeth. I would fight with every last piece of strength inside every fiber of my being. I would become stronger and protect my children and my kingdom I worked so hard to get, then I would go after my father.
This would be my final stance.
