Chapter 29 | Odelia

I had dressed in a pair of chain-mill leggings, and a tank top made of very fine, golden strands. Over the shirt I wore a long, robe of thick leather tied back with a pink ribbon. Not to mention the metal boots I wore, and I had my blonde locks pulled back into a pony tail.

Now, I sat in a slick, black car curtsy of Madrok and Abigale. We reached the ice warehouse in no time, Madrok didn't bother parking as the car slid to a harsh stop. We got out quickly, and I led them inside the building.

The place was empty, just as it always been. My guard was rose however, as I had no idea what to expect. We crept forward slowly – with Abby on my left and Madrok on my right. The beautiful elevator stood sparkling and with no alternative we awkwardly awaited the doors to open.

"Uhm," Abby whispered quietly, "I think we need to press the button."

My eyes widened and I looked at the panel beside the doors. A blush sprang to my cheeks and I nodded, my finger flying to practically stab the button. Beside me Madrok snickered, causing me to send him a heated glare.

...it wasn't my fault. I hadn't paid enough attention when Kardenal had done it.

The doors let out an airy DING before pulling open. We moved forward – my gut sting at the thought of walking into a trap but we had no other options. Thinking about it now, I should have realized the suspiciousness of having only one entrance and one exit. Not to mention how easy it would be to close off such an entrance – much easier than a staircase.

My eyes ignored the diamond interior this time – doing so I noticed another button on the inside. It was tiny – almost as small as the diamonds around me, with a very small pink flower etched onto it. Something about it seemed oddly out of place however before I could question it even more Madrok's hand rested on my shoulder.

"I can sense him...Cronas is above us," Madrok hummed.

Abby tensed, her soft emerald eyes on the ceiling. There was no more time to think and I hit the bigger button – the one for the club upstairs. The elevator hummed, before it began to move upwards. Classical music floated around us as we stood in silence.

Finally, the doors opened into Kardenal's club and we stepped through. Sure enough, Kardenal sat at one of the tables near the stage where ice woman in ice gowns twirled and danced. Beside him, sat none other than Cronas.

Beside me Abigale tensed as Madrok slipped down to hide in my shadow. Kardenal's head turned around to look over at me shock riddling his eyes as he quickly stood. A smile stretched out onto his face as he walked over.

"I never imagined you would come here – Odelia this man is Cronas the fallen angel of practice, sentenced of the sin of gluttony. He has the power to go against the very heavens themselves," he said bowing down when he gestured to Cronas.

"Kardenal, my boy, please do not flatter me so. I have already met the future queen," Cronas sighed deeply.

Kardenal straightened back up then nodded, "Of course my lord."

With this, Cronas stood, walking over. I noticed with distaste that his once long dark brown hair was cut short and he now even seemed to support a short beard – the first angel I've ever seen with facial hair. He wore a long, black trench coat with his signature red/blue eyes.

"It is nice to see you again," Cronas hummed with a smile taking a step towards me.

My eyes narrowed, and he stopped moving, "I'm only here for answers. That's all. Just stay were you are and not an inch closer. I don't trust you, and what you said before makes me not trust you anymore. Do not get me wrong, you are a threat to the world Lucifer gave my family."
