Search of the Antiquorum (Astro boy X reader)

Mistakes happen

You looked at the TV screen disapprovingly as a man reported another kidnapping. You frowned even more when a familiar face showed up on the screen.

"We were right. Whoever is doing this is deliberately trying to gather all of the survivers of the Black Plague." Plue stated. You nodded and sat down. Astro sat down beside you and frowned. He hated it when his friends were in danger. It was especially bad when he didn't know when or where the threat would come. You sighed and leaned your head back.

"Argh, this is so annoying! Why must things always get in our way while we're searching for the Antiquorum?" You complained. Astro shrugged. Zack glanced at the two of you and walked over to you.

"We need to get more gas for the ship." Zack pointed out. You looked up at him and nodded.

"Yeah, you're right. We'll go to the gas station to get some more." You told as you stood up. Veronica however shook her head and pushed you back down on the couch.

"No way, you're not going anywhere. Not now. You, Plue, Kennedy and Astro can stay here and wait while Zack and I go to retrieve more gas." Veronica stated. You frowned at her and crossed your arms.

"I can protect myself you know." Veronica rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, sure. Look I know that you're very capable of protecting yourself and that you could easily take down a simple kidnapper. But this guy is no ordinary kidnapper. Now there's a reason there were survivers, and that's because they fought for their lives. And yet they were still captured." Veronica pointed out. You frowned and looked to the side. Dang it, she was right. You sighed in defeat and rested your hands on your hips.

"Ugh, you do make a point. Argh, fine! We'll wait here..." You pouted as you said this. Veronica smiled and patted you on the head.

"Good girl." Veronica said mockingly. Your eye twitched in annoyance. You then swatted Veronica's hand away as she laughed. She then walked towards Zack and waved at you. You continued to pout at Veronica as she and Zack left the house. This was ridiculous. You sighed and turned towards Astro and Kennedy who had begun playing a game of cards with Plue. Plue grinned and slammed his cards down.

"Hah! Four of a kind! Beat that suckers." Plue mocked as he crossed his arms over his chest with a smug look on his face. Astro frowned while Kennedy smiled. He then rested all of his cards down and spread out his arms with a look which said 'I win'.

"Full house." Kennedy said smugly. Plue narrowed his eyes at Kennedy.

"Well played Kennedy, well played." Kennedy grinned at Plue and shuffled the cards. You smiled slightly at the scene and felt your stomach rumble. You looked down at your stomach and frowned. You hadn't gone grocery shopping yet so the house was completely devoid of food. You looked at the front door and frowned. Astro noticed your unsatisfactory look and gave you a questioning one.

"What's wrong Y/N?" Astro questioned as he walked up to you. You gestured to your stomach and sighed.

"I'm hungry, I haven't had anything to eat yet." You told. Astro glanced down at your stomach and chuckled slightly.

"How about we go to the diner to get breakfast or something?" Astro suggested. You smiled in delight and nodded. He then turned towards Kennedy and Plue who were having a death match of snap. "Hey guys, Y/N and I are just going to go to the diner to go and grab breakfast. You guys coming?" Plue gritted his teeth and slammed one of his cards down.

"Aye sir!" Plue shouted. Kennedy stared at the pile of cards intensely.

"Just grab us something." Kennedy told, not taking his eyes off the pile of cards. Astro nodded and took your hand in his. The two of you then walked out of the comforting presence of your home.
