Into the depths of fire

You let out a tired breath as you finished up on repairing Astro's body. You had finished Plue first since he was smaller so he headed off to sleep. You connected some wires to Astro's chest and pulled the lever. Power then surged into Astro's chest. Soon enough, his eyes fluttered open and he sat up. You smiled tiredly at Astro.

"Ah, good. Nothing seems to be wrong. How are you feeling?" You questioned as you rested your hand on his. Astro turned towards you and smiled brightly at you.

"I feel great!" Astro exclaimed. He then noticed the bags under your eyes and furrowed his brow in worry. "What about you though, are you okay? You look really tired." You chuckled and waved him off.

"Oh I'm fine. Just a bit tired is all." You told. You and Astro then heard the door open and you all turned to see that Plue had walked in.

"Good morning!" Plue exclaimed. You and Astro smiled and greeted him back. When Plue saw you however, his eyes widened. "Woah, you don't look so good. Did you just finish repairing Astro?" Plue questioned. You nodded. You then began to feel light headed and you gripped onto the work bench as the room spun around you. Astro gave you a worried look.

"Y/N?" Astro called. You tried to glance up at Astro but for some reason your eyes couldn't focus on him. You wobbled from side to side. Suddenly, you found yourself in Astro's arms on the ground. You blinked up at him slowly.

"Huh...? What...happened...?" You questioned slowly. Astro's face grew concerned and he glanced up at Plue who also stood over you.

"Plue, how long ago did she start repairing us?" Astro questioned.

"Well, she started repairing me the moment we got back. And that was twelve hours ago..." Plue muttered. Astro's eyes widened and he turned his attention back to you.

"Y/N, you've been awake for over twenty four hours? That's not good for your health." Astro said gently as he shifted you in his arms so that you were more comfortable. You had been awake for sixteen hours, twelve of those hours being the time it took for Astro and Plue to retrieve the document. Adding on twelve more hours would be...

"You've been awake for twenty six hours. You should get some sleep." Plue told. You nodded and closed your eyes as you leaned on Astro. Astro sighed and stood up with you in his arms.

"I'll place Y/N in her bed." Astro told. He then walked out of the engineering room and made a beeline for your room. Plue nodded and grabbed hold of the document.

"Guess I'll go and show the document to the others." Plue muttered before running off to the living room.

Astro struggled to open the door with no hands and pushed it open. He then closed it behind him with his foot and walked over to your bed. He gently placed you down on your bed and brushed the hair out of your face. You breathed in deeply as you slept. Astro sat down on the bed and watched over your pretty features as you slept. His eyes then wondered down to your lips which were slightly parted due to your deep breathing. The memory of your body bleeding out then flashed in his memory and he frowned. Astro then leaned down towards you, his lips hovering over yours. He then moved his lips to your forehead and pressed his lips to your forehead. He then sat up and smiled warmly at you.

"Sleep well, Y/N." Astro whispered before standing up and leaving the room. You smiled slightly in your sleep. Astro gently closed the door and walked into the living room where everyone was looking over the tenth document. They then saw Astro and gestured for him to come over.

"Astro, this document is written in the old language. We need for you to come and read it." Veronica told. Astro nodded and walked over to them. He then took hold of the document and read over it.
