Reno laid you on the couch and rushed over to the flight controls while Kennedy slammed the door shut. Plue reverted back to normal and furrowed his brow in worry.
"Hey, what about Zack? Shouldn't we wait for him?" Plue questioned. Kennedy and Reno froze. They then glanced at each other and pressed their lips into a thin line. They then let out shaky sighs. Reno fumbled with the controls while Kennedy glanced at Plue and crouched down in front of him.
"Plue...Zack, he...he was left behind with those human killing machines...I don't think he...made...it..." Kennedy whispered as he struggled to hold in his emotions. Plue stared at Kennedy. He then sniffled as tears pooled out of his eyes.
"B-b-but, what if he is alive?" Plue questioned, his voice quakey. Kennedy bit his lip and hugged Plue tightly. Plue sniffled and hugged him back. Reno gritted his teeth.
"Damn it, how do you work this thing?" Reno muttered. Kennedy glanced back at him.
"Can't you work any faster?" Reno frowned.
"I'm trying! I've never flown a spaceship before!" Plue sniffled and waddled over to Reno. He then jumped up and handled the controls. Reno gave Plue a sympathetic look. They had lost two friends. Reno then glanced out the window. Hopefully they wouldn't lose a third. You groaned and opened your eyes. Kennedy gasped and ran over to you.
"Y/N! Are you okay?" He questioned. You sat up and nodded.
"Y-yeah, I think so. What happened?" You questioned. Kennedy froze. He then glanced to the side.
"W-well..." You frowned at him. You then looked around to see that you were inside the spaceship.
"Hey, where's Astro and Zack?" You questioned. Kennedy sighed.
"Zack...he's...gone. And Astro, well he said that he would meet up with us." Kennedy told. Your eyes widened.
"What!? Zack is..." Your eyes began to tear up and you shook your head. "No, no! He can't be gone, he's alive, I just know it! Turn this ship around now!" You yelled. Kennedy shook his head.
"We can't! If we do that then we'll be caught in the blast!" Kennedy cried. You frowned.
"What blas-" Before you could finish your question, a loud explosion could be heard. You all whipped your heads out the window and your eyes widened at the giant white explosion. The ship was thrown away by the blast. You all gasped and tumbled to the ground as the ship was thrown off balance. Once the ship righted itself, you ran over towards the deck and looked outside. Your eyes then widened at the bright light that was now only a spec in the distance. You froze. There was no way that Astro could have made it out of that... Reality hit you. Hard. Veronica, Zack and....Astro...they were gone... You fell to your knees in disbelief. Kennedy hugged you from behind and trembled.
"I-I'm sorry..." Kennedy whispered as tears rolled down his cheeks. Reno and Plue sat in silence as they took in the truth. You sat there, frozen. You then remembered Luka and Astro's conversation. You stared down at your hands and clenched them.
"Why...am I alive?" You muttered. Kennedy's eyes widened.
"Huh?" You began to shake.
"If I wasn't brought back...then maybe no one would have gotten hurt...someone else would have gone and woken Astro up, he would have the key to shut down the Antiquorum, Zack and Veronica would still be alive, all of this could have been avoided if only...I didn't live...!" You cried. Kennedy furrowed his brow at this.
"N-no, that's not true. If you weren't alive...then we wouldn't have met each other. We wouldn't be as happy as we are now... It's not your fault." Kennedy told. You had your head buried in your hands. Kennedy sighed and looked up at the sky. His eyes then widened when he saw something small fly towards the ship. "No, it couldn't be..." Kennedy whispered. You glanced at him.
