A trip back to Earth

You slammed the hatchet closed after refuelling the ship and entered the ship to see everyone lazing about. You sighed and jumped onto one of the couches, accidentally knocking into Kennedy. Kennedy cried out and frowned at you. You gave him an apologetic look and shrugged. Kennedy rolled his eyes and continued his game of mario kart with Reno and Plue. Ironically, Kennedy played as Marion while Reno played as Luigi and Plue played as Toad. Astro sat down beside you and rested his head on your lap. You began to pat his head and played with his hair as you watched the three boys play against each other. Veronica then entered the room, steam coming out of her ears.

"Y/N! Where is the lotion I always use for my skin!?" Veronica screeched, seeming even more hot headed than usual. You shrugged and glanced at her.

"I dunno, have you checked the cabinet?" You questioned. Veronica stomped her foot onto the ground and growled.

"Yes of course I've looked there! I've looked everywhere and I still can't find it!" She cried. You frowned and sighed.

"Well, then maybe we ran out or something." Veronica seemed to freeze at your words. Her face then began to redden in anger. Zack saw this and his eyes widened.

"U-uh, Veronica? I think I saw another bottle under the kitchen sink! Try there." Zack suggested from the driver's seat. Veronica huffed and made her way into the kitchen. Zack sighed in relief when he managed to calm the raging beast. "Must be that time of month." Zack muttered under his breath as he turned back towards the controls. Astro overheard this and glanced up at you.

"What does he mean by that time of month?" Astro questioned. You opened your mouth to answer but halted and hummed in thought. Now that you thought about it, you didn't know either. After all, you were only twelve. At not receiving an answer, Astro sat up and stood up. "I'll go ask Veronica!" Before he could leave, you pulled Astro back.

"Um, I don't think now is the right time to ask her." You told. Astro pouted slightly but sat beside you anyway. Astro then leaned back on the chair and watched the TV screen with interest. You too watched as well. Zack glanced at the solar system radar and sighed.

"We've got about twelve hours until we reach the centre solar system." Zack told. You looked up and nodded.

"So that means about seventeen hours until we reach Earth." You summarised. Zack nodded. Astro pouted and crossed his arms over his chest. In all honesty, he was not that interested in going to Earth. In fact, he loathed it. But if it meant getting his memories back, then he would do anything. Even if it meant going to Earth. You glanced over at him and frowned slightly. You then sighed and looked down at your lap. You felt really bad about forcing Astro to go through this. "Hey, Astro? Maybe you should stay on the shi-"

"I'm going." You looked up at Astro in shock.

"But I thought that you-"

"No, I've made up my mind. Even though I loath the idea of returning to that place, if it means finding a lead to the Antiquorum then I'll do whatever is necessary." Astro told as he stood up. He then smiled at you. "It's alright, Y/N. I'm alright. We should just focus on finding the hourglass." You furrowed your brow as you stared at Astro. You then nodded slowly, giving him an unsure look. The rest of the trip was spent with Astro mentally preparing himself for what was to come.

After a good night's sleep, you and the others had finally arrived at your destination, planet Earth. Zack landed the ship close to the place where you found Astro and shut the engine down. Before opening the door, you turned towards everyone.

"Okay, everyone. Since the air is very poisonous here, we'll need to put on gas masks. There should be spares in the storeroom so go ahead and put those on." You told as you slipped one on yourself. Everyone nodded and made their way over to the storeroom. They then grabbed a gas mask each and returned to the main room, gas mask in hand. Everyone put the gas masks on and nodded to you.
