The sweet embrace of death

You all followed behind Luka. Astro and Reno stayed close to you along with Plue while Zack got to know Luka more.

"So you just happened to be wondering the woods the day of the attack?" Zack questioned. Luka nodded.

"Yeah, even though we didn't really know each other personally, we still passed by one another from time to time." Luka then turned towards you and smiled. "Take Y/N for instance. I wasn't close with her or anything but I often saw her gazing at the stars with her grandfather. My have you grown." Luka told. You blinked at Luka. Luka then gestured to Reno. "And I hear that Reno was quite the prodigy in school." Astro stared up at Reno.

"Reno..." Astro muttered while Reno frowned at Luka. Astro's eyes then widened and he held his hand to his chest. There was that feeling again. Why were there certain people he felt familiarity towards? Your hand slipped from Astro's snapping him out of his thoughts. Astro immediately grabbed hold of it again.

"Y/N, don't let go of my hand." Astro told. You gave him a confused look.

"Huh? But my hands are covered in blood." You reasoned. Astro shook his head and tightened his grip.

"I'm not risking losing you again." Astro told. You smiled at him and nodded. Luka carefully eyed Astro as you all walked. He then stopped. Everyone else stopped and looked at Luka in confusion. Luka then turned towards Astro.

"Hey, Astro was it?" Luke questioned. Reno sighed and walked forwards.

"Come on, we have to keep going!" Reno said in annoyance. Kennedy sweat dropped at Reno.

"You really don't like Luka, do you?" Kennedy questioned. Reno sighed and looked to the side.

"I don't hate him or anything, it's just that for some reason I don't trust that guy. Like I have this bad feeling about him." Reno admitted as everyone continued forwards. Astro eyed Luka nervously and nodded.

"Uh, yeah. That's my name, why?" Astro questioned. Luka smiled and walked along beside him.

"What's your relation to Y/N?" Luka questioned. Astro blinked at him and glanced at you. You pretended that you weren't listening while in reality you were all ears. Astro then smiled and turned towards Luka.

"Well she's one of my best friends, she's like family to me!" Astro exclaimed. You smiled at this. Luka too smiled and nodded.

"I see, so that's why you're so fond of her. Do you love her?" You choked on your own spit at this question. Astro smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, of course!" Your face was pretty much burning at this point. Luka glanced at you and smirked.

"Well it looks like she feels the same way." Astro blinked and turned towards you. You glared at Luka and began to walk more slowly. Astro pulled you along.

"Come on Y/N, you don't wanna be left behind now do you?" You sighed and looked at Astro.

"Astro, you're an idiot without your memories you know that right?" Astro gave you a bewildered look and pouted at you.

"Hey, that was uncalled for." Astro said. You shook your head. You all reached a fork in the road and frowned.

"Which way do we go?" Kennedy questioned. Astro was about to answer when Plue raised his paw up at him.

"Hold it, you lead us into enough dead ends. Let someone who actually knows where they're going lead us for once." Plue commented. Astro pouted and looked down in embarrassment. Luka walked forwards and pointed to the path on the right.

"This way." Veronica raised a delicate eyebrow at Luka.

"And what makes you think that this is the path we should be taking?" Veronica questioned. Luka smiled at her.

"Because this happens to be the very place I've been hiding out all of these years." Luka admitted. Your eyes widened in surprise.

"Wait, you spent six years in the sewers!?" You cried. Luka nodded.

"Why yes, almost all of us survivors were homeless immediately after the incident ended. If we had family then we'd stay with them and friends. But if they're like you and I, who have no family or other relatives, then they must fend for themselves." Luka explained. You frowned. Reno sighed and pushed Luka forwards.

"Come on, let's hurry." Reno told. Everyone nodded and continued forwards. While you were walking, you heard some noises behind you and stopped. You then glanced behind you. Astro glanced back at you.

"Y/N?" Astro called. You turned towards him.

"Ah, sorry let's keep going." Astro nodded and walked slightly ahead of you, eager to get out of the sewers. You heard more sounds and glanced back, nervousness slowly building up inside of you. You then looked back forwards. It was probably just paranoia.

"Okay, we're almost out of here." Luka told. You all smiled and ran forwards. Your hand slipped from Astro's as the two of you ran towards the exit. Your foot then caught on something and you tripped.

"Ack!" You cried out as you hit the dirty stone. Astro glanced back at you with wide eyes.

"Y/N! Are you okay?" Astro questioned as he reached for you. You smiled and nodded and reached up to take his hand. Veronica sighed and looked behind you. Her eyes then widened in shock and she pointed towards the darkness.

"Y/N LOOK OUT!" Veronica cried. You were about to look behind you when you felt a cold steel blade rip through your shoulder line. Your eyes widened as a white hot sensation coursed through your shoulder. Astro watched with wide eyes as you fell to the ground, a pool of blood forming around you.

"Y/N!!!" Astro cried. He then froze when you were lifted up from the ground and held up like some trophy by none other than the man in the black cloak. Blood dripped down from your wound. Astro watched every drop of blood you lost, rage building up inside of him.

"I've finally done it, I've completed god's will. I've ridden this world of this witch!" The man in black exclaimed as he shook you around. The sudden movement caused you to cough up blood. That was it. Astro rushed forwards faster than lightning and snapped the cloaked man's wrist effortlessly. He gasped in pain and dropped you. Astro caught you and rested your body against his. The cloaked man cried out in pain and held his wrist.

"Don't touch her." Astro muttered. The cloaked man glared at Astro.

"Curse you you damn robot!" He yelled. He then froze when Astro held up his laser beam canon at him.

"I said not to touch her." Astro stated much more loudly. The cloaked man took a step backwards. The others could only watch with wide eyes as Astro fired the canon. You however used all of your strength to gently move Astro's arm to the side. Astro's eyes immediately snapped towards your half lidded ones questionably. You shook your head and rested your hand gently on Astro's cheek.

"N-no....I won't...let...you become...a m-murderer..." You croaked out. "E-even if...he deserves it..." Astro looked at you with wide eyes. The cloaked man stared at you with wide eyes. He then began to laugh hysterically.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! THIS IS AMAZING! A WITCH SHOWING MERCY, IT IS SIMPLY UNREAL! IT IS-" His words were cut short when a bullet was imbedded in his forehead. You all watched as he fell to the floor, dead. You all then turned towards the shooter with wide eyes. Luka smiled and put his gun away.

"He got annoying so I thought I'd silence him." Luka told. He then pointed to you. "Actually, we should get her to a hospital. She doesn't look so good." Astro gasped and looked down at you. You stared up at Astro and coughed out more blood. Your body, it felt so heavy. You could barely keep your eyes open.

"Y/N, hang in there!" Astro cried, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. Your vision began to grow dark. You opened your mouth to reassure Astro but no words would come out. Your world than went black.
