It was 2.30pm and Dr. Latham and Ava had finished the bypass. Ava was walking to the coffee cart out front when she bumped into Connor.

C: Hi

A: Hello

Ava continued walking, not making eye contact with Connor.

C: Ava, wait where are you going?

A: Connor, I'm busy.

Ava quickly continued down the corridor and through two large doors, out of earshot of Connor.

Connor stood there for a moment, a little bit confused. What the heck was that all about he thought? He shook his head and continued to the doctor's lounge to put his bag away. He was changing into his scrubs and lab coat when Will walked in.

W: Hey! Is it true what I've heard? Are you really leaving Med for the Mayo Clinic? I mean I'm incredibly happy for you but it won't be the same around here without you bossing me around all the time.

C: Haha yeah it is. Thanks, man. Should I be a little offended that everyone seems happy I'm leaving?

W: Aw c'mon dude, you know we will all miss you. Except maybe Ava. She has been stomping around here all morning. I bet once you're gone she will get all the showy surgeries.

C: I honestly have no idea what is going on with her. We never get along. I don't even know if she is mad because I am leaving or if its because I got a job offer and not her. Either way, I think it will be easier for us both once I am gone.

W: Well good luck with that. I have no luck with women. I cannot understand them for the life of me.

C: That's not true. I thought you just proposed to Nat?

W: I did.

C: Oh. Did she say no?

W: No worse than that.

C: What could possibly be worse than no?

W: She said. "Maybe, it all depends on you." What the hell does that mean? I feel like I'm being tested and I don't even know what the subject is.

C: Jeez. I can't help you there buddy, good luck to you as well.

W: Thanks, Connor. Women, right?

C: You can say that again. Take a look at my track record.

Will laughed and then headed back to work. Connor stood there for a moment before he got a page from Dr. Latham. "Meet in my office in 10". Connor looped his stethoscope around his neck and then headed out to meet Dr. Latham.
