Niall's POV

"Guys! Emma has been gone for a little too long now, I'm going to look for her!" I say. We were supposed to have our cup of tea when she got back, but it's been a long time and I'm worried about her.

"She's probably at the park really close to here....if you needed to know," Tristan adds shyly. I can tell that Tristan likes Emma as more then a friend. I watched the video of Emma and Tristan at the park that day that someone posted on the internet. The way that Tristan looks at Emma was a look of more then friends. I would know because that's how I look at Katie.

Only problem is that James from The Vamps looks at her the same way.

"Got it," I say as I run out of the room. I need to find her ASAP.

I run down the stairs (elevator takes too long) and I fly out the door, onto the sidewalk. I sprint down the street with images of what might be happening to Emma. She could have been murdered in an alley and I wouldn't be there to save her. I sprint harder to the park as thoughts of Emma laying limp in an alley fill my head. She's like my little sister, and I couldn't stand it if I lost her.

I see the bridge that I saw in the video ahead so I run towards it, looking around for signs of Emma. On the bridge there is a group of 5 girls. They are around 17 and are looking at something in the water, laughing.

I look to what they are looking at and see water that has been disturbed by a person. A person who jumped. Or got pushed.

Emma.

Emma's POV

I finally give up. Not only am I giving up on getting out of this situation but just life in general. Is it really worth all of this pain?

So I give up. I let myself sink to the bottom, letting the water fill my lungs as they begin to burn. I let the water take control as I try to let myself free of this world.

Niall's POV

I slide off my shirt and jump. The other girls ran away when they saw me running towards them so they obvisiously weren't there to help.

I search the water and I finally found Emma's small body, curled up. I can tell that she hasn't drowned yet, but she's close. Right before I jumped, a bunch of bubbles came up, telling me that she just let go of her air, so she can't possibly be... dead by now.

I grab her and pull her to the surface. She isn't very heavy, so I easily paddle her over to shore. I set her down on the shore, and check her breathing. She suddenly sits up, and spits up water, her eyes going wide in surprise, as if she wasn't supposed to be here.

"Why?" she asks me, after she's controlled her breathing. I'm a little bit confused at her question. Why what?

"Why did you save me?" she asks, further explaining.

"What do you mean?" I ask, still confused. "Of course I would save you. If I was in this situation a hundred times with you, I would do the exact same thing and save you. Because that's what friends do."

That sounded like a pretty good explaination to me.

"I was supposed to die," she tells me, as a tear streams down her face. I pull her into a hug, as she digs her head into my chest, sobbing.

"Please don't ever say that to me," I tell her quietly. "You deserve to live just as much as I do."

"No I don't," she whispers in between sobs.

I look at this beautiful girl in front of me, confused on how she feels this way.

As I look at her, I see a tattoo on her forearm, quoting Little Things. I have had that song stuck in my head all day, so I just decided to sing it to her.

She instantly slowed down her tears from the song. By the time I reached Harry's part she's recovered and is now just cuddling against my chest. And by the time I finish, she's asleep. She must be so exhausted from everything that's happened today.

I scoop her up into my arms, and carefully carry her bridal style all the way to the hotel. Once we get into the lobby, I look down at her. I couldn't see her too well at the park, but in this lighting, she looks terrible.

There were scratches and claw marks everywhere. She had a black eye and other bruises that were slowly becoming more prominent. I decide to keep her in my room tonight, just so people don't freak out and she needs her rest anyways.

I set her down on the bed. When I set her down, she wakes up.

"Sorry about that..." she tells me once she's awake and sitting up.

"Oh it's no problem," I tell her honestly. She wasn't actually that difficult to carry. "Do you want to change into something else?"

She nods her head so I walk to my suitcase and pick up a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts. "Sorry if they don't fit," I tell her as I hand her the clothing.

"I'll make it work," she tells me with a smile as she walks over to the bathroom. She walks out only a couple seconds later, completely changed and a towel in her hand, using it to dry her hair.

I laugh at her outfit, seeing that the shirt is so big on her that it covers her shorts.

"I think I pull it off better then you," she states as she walks over to the bed, sitting down on it.

"I might have to agree with you on that," I joke. She smiles.

I finally have the guts to ask the questions that have been bothering me all night.

"Why did you drown?" I ask bluntly. "Like I could tell you couldn't touch because of your height, but you should still be able to swim ashore."

"I... I can't swim," she says quietly. "And a phobia of water, like oceans, rivers, ponds even."

"Okay that makes sense," I reply. "And who threw you in and hurt you?" I ask, gesturing at her cuts and bruises.

She bites her lip, debating whether or not to respond. "Fans," she says, finally giving in. "Jealous fans. Jealous of Tristan and I, even though we aren't dating."

I pull her back in for a hug, seeing that she had tears brimming her eyes. "But I do look terrifying, don't I?" she asks me as she pulls away. I can tell she is almost joking, but not quite.

I nod my head. "How about you sleep on it, take a shower in the morning so that you get that pond stuff out, and then decide what to do."

She nods her head in agreement. "Can I have another change of clothes?" she asks me. I look at her to see that I am still soaking wet and I just hugged her, making her and the bed wet.

We both laugh at my stupidity and I hop up to hand her different clothes.

"I don't have anymore shorts..." I tell her as I rummage through my suitcase. "Louis probably stole them. Boxers work?"

"Ya sure," she says as I toss her a new shirt and a pair of plaid boxers. She goes and changes as I change too.

We both hop in the same bed since we got the other one wet. "Niall likes to cuddle,"I tell Emma as I pull her close to me.

"Good thing Emma likes to cuddle, too," she says as she accepts my cuddle.

"You do know that your like my brother, right? Like you couldn't be more then that," she says to me.

"Feeling is mutual, except that your my sister," I say as we both drift off into sleep.
