Emma's POV

The voices are still talking to me.

You're worthless.

You're ugly.

You're better off dead.

It's one of those days that I start to believe them. Katie told me when this happens, call her.

"Katie...Help...They're back..." I say into the phone between sobbing breaths.

"Be there in 10 minutes," Katie replies. "Can you last that long?"

"I don't know..." I reply truthfully. The voices are so strong. "I don't think so..."

"Please Emma. Please,"Katie says. By now I can tell that she is crying a little, too. She is as scared as I am. "Where are you now?"

"Apartment. Kitchen," I reply shakily.

"Go to your bedroom and play your playlist. Now," Katie says insistently. I walk out of the kitchen to my room and over to my docking station. I open the music app with a shaky hand and press my playlist labeled "HELP" and press play.

It starts playing Little Things by One Direction and I start to calm down a little. Zayn's voice instantly drowning out the voices in my head. By the time I reach Harry's part of the song, I can barely hear the voices.

Harry has always been my favorite. I don't really know why, but he is. It could be the hair or his tattoos, or just simply his amazing voice that saves me in moments like this.

I look down at my forearm at my tattoo. It says "I'm in love with you and all these" in a font like a type writer and then the words "Little Things" in a fancy cursive writing. It reminded me of my love for Cat and Katie, my two best friends.

Well, my only friends. I have never been the one to have a lot of friends so it's just Cat, Katie, and I.

"Are you better?" Katie asks worriedly since I haven't spoken in awhile, being lost in my own thoughts.

"Definitely..." I reply with a sigh.

"Good," Katie says happily. "I'm in the elevator."

"Door is open."

Soon enough, I hear the door open and loud footsteps, meaning that Katie was running to my bedroom. She flies through the doorway and embraces me in a hug.

With her shoulder length reddish-brown hair and faint freckles spread across her nose, Katie has always been one of the prettiest girls ever to me.

"You're okay now, you're okay," she comforts me. "I texted Cat and she should be here any minute."

Speak of the devil.

The door opens again, and ore footsteps are heard as Cat comes through the door. I look up at her and smile to indicate to her that I'm better now, and her face instantly becomes less worried.

Cat joins Katie in kneeling next to me. Cat's long, auburn hair is resting on her shoulder as she smiles at me with her straight, white teeth. She's so absolutely beautiful. It's not right that Cat and Katie have to hang out with me. They are just too good, too pretty. They deserve better.

But that has never stopped them.

Cat wraps her arms around Katie and I in a comforting group hug that seemed to make everything seem all right in the world for a couple moments.

"You're a little better?" She asks, pushing strands of hair out of my eyes for me.

"I'm okay for now," I reply.
