"Perrie Oxlade-Chamberlain?" A man in uniform asked Perrie who was stood in a tracksuit and slippers, a baby perched on her hip.

"Yes but I'm still Edwards" She replied, fear sliding to the bottom of her stomach.

"Can we come in?" He asked, a sad look on his face, as he gestured to his female partner.

"Erm yes, I'll just put the baby down and I'll be right with you" she said stepping aside directing them into the living room.

"Hat would you grab your brother from the play room for me, I'm just having a meeting in the living room." She shouted up as she placed the toddler down. She heard a reply and sighed, slowly entering the room where the uniformed people had now taken off their hats.

"Can I er can I get you anything?" She offered attempting to keep the shake out of her voice.

"No just take a seat," the female Sargent said, gesturing to one of Perrie's couches.

"Mrs Edwards, I'm Sargent Matthews and this is Sargent Peters we're with Mersey Police" the male officer told Perrie, the seriousness strong in his voice.

"N-nice to meet you" she replied, fiddling with the baby blanket that was in her hands.

"Unfortunately, Mrs Edwards, we think your husband, Alex, was hit by a car on his run this morning. He's been taken to the Royal and is being treated for his injuries." Sargent Peters said, laying a hand on Perrie's knee.

"What?" Was all Perrie could utter, thoughts racing through her mind a million miles an hour. "I-is he o-okay?" She stuttered out, in complete shock.

"Paramedics were on the scene quickly and a preliminary check has lead them to believe he has quite a few injuries. Obviously this means we need to get you in to see him. Do you have childcare?" The male asked Perrie who shook her head.

"N-no I have 2 kids at home today, and one in school. My parents live in Newcastle and Alex's live in Portsmouth. We've only lived here for a few months so I don't know any of the neighbours well enough" Perrie fretted.

"That's okay, we'll have a social worker meet us at the hospital and someone will contact your parents. How old is the child that is in school? And your others?" Peters asked her softly.

"M-my eldest is 11 just gone into high school and then there's Hattie who is 8 and she studies at home and then there's the Baba who is 18 months." Perrie said, looking down at the blanket in her hands.

"Okay, what are their names?" she asked, as the three stood up.

"William, Harriet and Logan" Perrie said, grabbing her phone and her coat along with Harriet and Logan's.

"Okay, do you want to grab the kids and we'll sort the car out for them." Sargent Matthews said,opening the front door,

Perrie nodded and went upstairs, going into Harriet's room, where she was laying on her bed next to Logan watching a Peppa Pig video. "Hat, come here," Perrie said, perching on the end of the bed. The sweet girl came over and sat next to her mum, who wrapped her arm around her. "Baby, you need to put your coat on okay, we're going to hospital and we're going to ride in a police car. When you get there a nice man or woman is going to look after you for a little while okay?"
