The world was coming up to roses. Frank finally went away and Heidi understood that her son and Connor loved each other and Jared and Katlyn were together again after talking a little. They noticed even though all that happened, they still had feelings for each other.
Most importantly, Evan and Connor graduated and finally bought their own house. It was actually a big house comparing to their old apartment.
Anyway, their relationship was just perfect. No fights, no problems, no Jared saying kinky for every single thing they do as a couple and no homophobic parents. Life was just perfect for everybody. Evan's anxiety got much better and he had way more confident than before and Connor and his family finally started to get along together again.
Even though everything was perfect, Connor thought it could get much better. He wanted to go further on his relationship with Evan. He was planning to propose to him.
Connor is not the "romantic" type of guy but when it's about Evan, he always tries his best to do the romantic stuff he knows Evan likes. To propose to him at the right way, he needed some advice from his mother, Heidi, Zoe, Alana and even Jared, that just suggested a good motel they could go after the proposal, but Connor immediately denied with anger. He and Evan didn't have sex yet but he was fine with it. He knew his boyfriend doesn't like that kind of stuff so he just gave up on doing it already.
Well, he and the others decided that he should do a surprise romantic picnic at the orchard just like one of their old dates. Connor had everything for that surprise ready, and he had even bought the rigs already, but all he needed was something to say when he was going to propose.
He tried hard for days, but he couldn't think of anything. Connor wrote some drafts but none of them seemed good enough.
"Ughh!! I just CAN'T do it!! Why can't I just express what I feel for him?!" He rested his head on the desk and again, crumpled the paper sheet and threw it away. He grunted and just kept his head laid there, his mind without any ideas. He HAD to do it for Evan, but it was really hard for him to express his feelings.
He opened his laptop and googled "Proposing ideas" but nothing was being useful. All he could find was some cliche shit that probably would work for women but for him, Evan deserved something way better than that. Connor wanted it to be special and unforgettable for himself and for Evan.
He bit the pencil a little, trying to think of anything to write on that goddamn paper sheet. He tried plenty times to put his feelings but he just couldn't open himself up. He ended up taking almost two weeks but he at least had something say.
*Two days later (it's Saturday)*
Everything ready. The picnic basket was ready, the bouquet was also inside the basket, the rings were carefully stored inside the small black velvet box. Connor checked those things thrice to make sure he wasn't going to screw up. He had to make this day perfect.
He put all the stuff on the car and went back inside to see Evan already dressed up. Connor had told him to get dressed because they were going on a date. Well, he didn't say exactly date but that's what it seemed like for Evan.
