We're rich!

The next morning I slept in and texted Akari that I wasn't going to be there since I was feeling sick. There was a knock at the door "it's open" I said not wanting to yell at the door opened with a woman that came in

"Hi I'm Mami, Satomi's lawyer I came to talk to you able somethings for the funeral if that's alright," she said I nodded sitting up

"Take a seat," I said yawning "so what about the funeral?" I asked 

"Well, one of Satomi's close friends are making the arrangement. I wanted to talk to you about Satomi's will" she said I nodded "So this is what the old will says" she handed me a piece of paper that said all the money she has in savings would go to charity. 

"Ok," I said 

"And the new will and I quote 'all my savings, valuables and possessions will go to Railey. The girl who lives with me' I assume you're Railey since I found you here?" She asked I nodded 

"Wait, how recently did she change this?" I asked 

"Couple weeks ago," she said

'That must have been why she was out that day' I thought to myself

"Wait why did she originally want it down to charity? Doesn't she have kids?" I asked her 

"Unfortunately no. Looking through her records it seemed she tried to have one but never could and when they did it died due to the stress from her husband's death" that explains why she wanted me to call her that because she never had kids so she didn't have grandchildren to call her grandma. 

"Did she give any reason to why she now wants me to have it all?" I asked 

"It says here that you since you've been living here she has loved having you and thought of you as her granddaughter and due to your family complications she wants you to have it" I was happy she left me with everything 

"So how much did she leave me?" I asked the woman looked through some papers in the folder

"Um, in her bank account there is 70,000 in there and her valuables are worth 5,000 and then what's in her savings. It rounds up to 100,000" my mouth dropped

"Oh my gosh," I said 

"Yeah doesn't look like she spent much at all unless she really wanted to or needed it," she said looking at some paper 'she could have paid for that surgery but why didn't she?' I wondered

"Anyways that's all I wanted to talk to you about if you have any questions or concerns just call me and I'll be keeping everything that Satomi has safe so don't worry," she said handing me her card then walking out the door

"Holy fuck, Coco we're rich!" I yelled getting up and dancing while Coco barked at me my phone then rang "hello?" I answered it 

"Yes, Railey after looking at Satomi's file from when she was at that hospital it looks like she did have surgery but it was to replace a heart valve or something," he said 

"Oh, she did say that the surgery was for her heart but she did specifically say what it was for," I told him, "thanks for looking into it tho" 

"No problem" I hung up and sighed a text went off on my phone 

I just got a call from the friend that the funeral will be in two days and the viewing is tomorrow -Mami 

I put the phone down and walked through the house looking at it "I wonder what will happen to this house?" I wondered looking around at it Coco whined "I know boy if we can't stay here then I'll find a place we can stay. I'm not losing you too" I said putting my forehead to his head "let's go for a walk that will help," I said grabbing his leash and walking out the door.
