Opening the door, my parents were sitting on the couch waiting for me

"Where on earth have you been?" my mom asked hugging me

"Why haven't you answered your phone?" my dad asked

"I guess I left it on silence," I sat on the couch across from them

"Why did you leave the house? You had a lesson going on" dad questioned

"He said we could take a break. I wasn't interested in the lesson so I left" I shot back

"This is supposed to prepare you for the future" mom added

"A future that I don't want. What happened to you guys? You've changed since we've been here" I told them

"We just want what's best for you," my dad said

"It's different than back in America, Laura. You understand that right?" my mom asked

"Yes I know but you don't have to be like they are here," I said

"Nevertheless you left without telling anyone. For that you are grounded" my dad commanded

"And since you'll be grounded you will have more work to do" my mom added

"Hell no! I am not doing that!" I stood up "I don't want to work at that stupid business! I don't even like what I'm being taunt but you wouldn't know that since you never talk to me anymore! You're all caught up in your own world! You know what, I'm done. I'm done with all this. I wish we never moved here!" I yelled marching up to my room

'That's it. I'm done' grabbing a bag I started throwing clothes and other items in. I grabbed the money I had throwing it in too. 'I'm leaving tonight while everyone's asleep'

~~~
It had been a few hours later when mom came upstairs
"Laura, honey, dinner's ready. Let's talk about this" she said
"No, go away," I told her without saying anything else she walked away
'Now she wants to talk. Hm a little too later for that' I thought continuing to type away on my computer.
Around 10 o'clock when everyone was asleep I snuck out of the house. Quiet and quick without anyone noticing and headed to the train station
"A ticket for the furthest place away from here," I told the ticket person they pulled up the ticket
"That will be 350.98 yen, please," they said I gave them the money then took the ticket heading toward the correct train. Getting on the train I found a seat away from everyone near a window in the back. Pulling out my laptop I search for a place to stay where I was going. Finding one I called the old lady
"Hello ma'am, I was wanting to ask about the house you had up for sale?" I asked her
"Oh that" she yawned on the other end "How about you can come by tomorrow and we will talk about it" she offered
"Yes, that is perfectly fine ma'am. Sorry for calling you so late but thank you," I said
"You're welcome," she said before hanging up. Looking at my ticket I decided to see how far it was from here.
"Four hours" I whispered "Good thing this is a one-way ticket," I said closing my computer and laying my head on the window frame going to sleep.
~~~

"Miss, miss you have to wake up" I opened my eyes slowly to see a man in a conductor's uniform

"Huh?" I rubbed my eyes

"You'll have to get off we are here at the last stop," he said I nodded

"Thank you sir" grabbed my stuff I hopped off the train. Looking at my phone it was 3:50 AM

'Why does it have to be so early?' I groaned still tired 'I wonder if there is a hotel nearby' I wandered around the streets looking at the signs above 'Good thing I know Japanese' following the signs I ended up at a store

"Excuse me can you tell me where the closest hotel is?" I asked the cashier

"Take a right and headed two blocks up. There should be one on your left," he said

"Thank you, sir," heading the way he told me eventually I got to the hotel "Do you guys have any rooms open for the night?" I asked the front desk person

"Yes, luckily we have one open. How long will you be staying?" she asked me

"Just for a couple of hours that's all," I said she nodded before typing something into the computer

"Ok your room will be 215, here are your keys, have a lovely stay," she said. Taking the keys I headed up to my room. Getting there I laid my stuff down before throwing myself onto the bed

"Thank you," I said passing out.
