The funeral

The next morning I got up and got dressed then fixed myself something to eat before the doorbell rang. I opened the door to see a woman young with black long hair and brown eyes dressed in a black dress 

"Hi, I'm one of Satomi's friends. I'm the one setting up the arrangements for the funeral. I came here to get you and take you to the viewing" she explained I nodded, grabbed my phone, and locked the house up then followed her into a car. It took a while for us to get to the place where it was held. We got out and walked up to the building I told myself to try and keep it together today "Change of plans we are doing the viewing and the funeral today" the woman whispered to me I nodded still not saying anything. We walked into the building, it was filled with people dressed in black some were crying while the other people were comforting the ones crying. We walked into a room where people were standing around talking, crying and comforting each other. We walked up to the front of the room where a beautiful casket set surrounded with hundreds of flowers of all colors. The woman walked up to it holding back her tears a little bit she then moved away from the casket and gestures for me to walk you there. Hesitate I took a couple steps toward it before looking inside it, she was wearing a white dress that had prints of flowers on it in white. Her hair was brushed and down with a white rose held in her hands that were laid on her chest. I felt myself break just looking at her and in that state knowing she is now gone forever, a tear slipped down my face; I wiped my face then moved to where the woman was. A couple minutes later the funeral started with a priest talking about Satomi and how everyone loved her 

"Now Railey, if want to you can come up here and say a few words about her you can" he called me out I was stunned not knowing this was happening 

"You don't have to do it if you don't want to," the woman told me but I decided I would at least say something about her so I got up and walked up there, I stood there for a moment thinking of what to say

"Satomi was a great lady, very caring and so sweet to me even though I didn't know here as long as most of you people. The time I spent with her, I loved and would never trade it for the world. I hate to see her go but she will be in a better place" I said my voice choking up at the end 

"Thank you, Railey, you may go back to your seat," he said before saying some more about Satomi as I walked back sitting beside the woman. After the funeral when everything was over the woman took me back home

"You're a strong girl Railey handling all this on your own and not once breaking down and crying during that service. I'm sorry for you to see Satomi go like this" she apologized I shook my head

"It's ok and thanks for today," I said before waving at her and closing the door. I slide down it proceeding everything and bawling. Coco came over to me licking my face and putting his head on my lap trying to make me feel better. The tears just kept coming and coming nonstop, my face wet from tears, nose running and throat feeling as if it was closing up "Why! Why does this have to happen to me!!" I screamed out banging my head against the door repeating why over and over again "I got away from one thing and now something else has to come and fuck my life!" The tears started coming down harder Coco eventually just started licking my face causing my tears to stop and me laugh "Coco stop it" I said laughing and pushing him away "I'm fine now" I said he pulled away "Thanks boy" I petted his head he liked it closing his eyes "I'm gonna head to bed since tomorrow I should probably go to school" I said heading to my room and stripping my clothes and putting on pajamas before hopping in bed with Coco falling asleep.
