Brianne's POV
"Ryan, I'm so bored. I can't really do much with a broken leg." I moaned from the couch.
"I can take you, go somewhere?" He suggested. I shook my head in disagreement.
"No."
"Movies?"
"No."
"Food?"
"No."
"How could you turn down food?"
"Because that's not what I want."
"Well then I'm all out of ideas." Ryan said, throwing up his arms.
"Teach me how to play Fortnite." I smiled at him.
"What?"
"You heard me."
"Do I really want to take you down that path?"
"Yes." I smiled, nodding my head.
"This can either go really bad or really good that you become better than me."
"Come on before I change my mind."
"Alright, alright." Ryan said, gently picking me up. He carried me up to his gaming room and set me down in his chair.
"I feel a surge of power sitting in this chair."
"Such a geek." Ryan teased, handing me a controller. He set me up with everything and I was deciding what emote to use. I chose the llama bell.
"Don't mess with me. I got a llama bell and I'm not afraid to use it."
"Oh god, you're going to be the first to die."
***************
"Brianne, you're going to die!" Ryan yelled. I was currently hiding in an empty truck out in the forest. There were only twenty people left, so I wasn't all that terrible.
"Calm down. No one's found me yet."
"Look here, goofball, you see that circle?" I nodded my head. "That's going to shrink and you'll end up in the storm, that'll kill you."
"Did you really have to call me names though?" I asked, looking at him.
"Yes and no." I was walking around, chopping trees down for wood and collecting things that I would need for a fight when the screen went purple and my health started declining.
"I'm in the storm!"
"Run!"
"I am running!" I was making my character run to wherever until the game said I eliminated myself. "What the hell! Why did I die!?"
"Because that's what happens in the storm."
"Well I think it's stupid." Ryan chuckled and kissed the top of my head.
"Oh I love you so much. Now give me the controller back." He said, reaching for the controller.
"No." I whined, putting a tighter grip on it. "That was fun, I liked it."
"You died..you killed yourself."
"So?" I shrugged.
"I created a monster." Ryan sighed.
"You think I'm a monster? I can't wait to see how you and our son will be playing video games."
"Could have a daughter, you never know." Ryan smirked at me.
"Come on, keep teaching me this game." I said, hitting start again.
Alexis Sitkowski does have a good fit around this house.
***************
Ryan and I both played a few more rounds and then decided to call it a night and get some sleep. I rested my head on Ryan's shoulder and laced our fingers together, smiling.
"I'm happy I married you." Ryan spoke.
"Well I would hope so."
"I mean, I don't think I'd be this happy and so in love with someone else. You really are everything that I could ask for in a person." He smiled.
"If I had died, would you remarry?" I questioned, looking at our wedding bands.
"That's a trick question."
"How?"
"Well if I say no then I'm lying and if I say yes, I'm an idiot, right?"
"No, I just want honesty." Ryan sighed, scratching the scruff on his face while thinking hardly.
"I honestly don't know."
"You wouldn't remarry or even date again?"
"Brianne, I have you and I'm grateful you're living, that's all that matters to me. I don't want to discuss this morbid stuff."
"Ryan, accidents happen, I'm an example. Once you die, you can't come back, lights out."
"What are you getting at?" Ryan asked, leaning on his elbow.
"I'm talking about what you or I would do if the other died. I would want you to move on, date, get remarried, have kids."
"Would you remarry?"
I thought about it for a minute. If Ryan was ever suddenly taken out of my life, I'd definitely go crazy. Knowing Ryan and been married to him and knowing he always wants to see me happy and have a smile on my face..I think I'd remarry. Yes, my heart would be broken, but I know he'd want me happy.
"Yes."
"Really?"
"Ryan, I love you with every cell in my body, if you died I'd lose my mind. But because I know you, I know being happy and smiling makes you happy, I'd marry again."
"So if I married again, you wouldn't be mad?"
"No, because all I want is to see you happy."
"I probably would, but I'd want to sleep in separate beds."
I chuckled at Ryan's answer, slapping his arm. "You're so funny."
"Let's be real. I wouldn't sleep with another woman because it's not you and I know for a fact you'd return to haunt her for touching me."
"Correct, but you want kids."
Ryan shook his head. "I only want kids with you."
"We have some pretty dark conversations, don't we?" I asked, giggling.
"It's because I married a beautiful woman with a dark personality and I love that." Ryan smiled at me.
I smiled at Ryan and pressed my lips to his cheek. "You make me happy..always."
"That's my job as your husband."
