One Month
Ryan's POV
"Okay, Carson is fed and asleep." Brianne said, crawling into bed next to me.
"So you wanna..." I trailed off, pulling her close to me.
"No, Ryan."
"Come on, Brianne, really?" I questioned, kissing her neck.
"I said no, Ryan."
"We haven't done anything since Carson was born! Please, Brianne." I whined.
"No, Ryan. Carson's in the same room, do you really wanna scar this kid?"
"He's two months old, he's not going to know! We can be real quiet."
"No, just wait until he's in the nursery."
"Brianne."
"If you can't control your hormones and sleep, I suggest you go sleep on the couch before you wake up your son." I grabbed my pillow and blanket, going downstairs.
***************
The next day I was at Ricky's going over guitar riffs and whatnot. A lack of intimacy, let alone just some actual time with my wife was taking it's toll on me.
"I can't take this anymore!" I sighed, putting my guitar down.
"What?" Ricky asked.
"I had a bad night." I said.
"Why?"
"It's like Brianne and I are dating again, taking things slow. We haven't had sex since Carson was born and it's been two fucking months! If I pursue any harder, I'm going to be sleeping on the couch for the rest of my life."
"You have a kid now, that means less sex." Ricky laughed.
"Well I don't like it." I frowned.
"I'll talk to Jaime. Maybe we can watch Carson for an evening and you two can have a date night."
"You'd do that for us?"
"You and Brianne are my closest friends, we'd love to watch Carson." Ricky smiled. "Plus, Jaime loves being around him."
"Thank you."
"No problem."
***************
I came home later in the afternoon and smiled as I saw Brianne stretched out on the couch with Carson laying on her chest.
"Brianne?" I asked, walking over to her.
"Ryan."
"I'm home, let me take him upstairs." I lifted Carson off Brianne's chest, taking him to our bedroom. I placed him in the bassinet and came back downstairs to Brianne, who was now sitting up on the couch.
I sat next to Brianne as she rested into my side. I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her in close to me.
"I'm exhausted."
"You can be tired." I chuckled. "How about we go on a date?" I asked.
"Not tonight. I'm dead tired and look like hell."
"How about tomorrow then? We'll have a nice dinner, we haven't really spent much time with each other since Carson was born."
"Who's going to watch him?"
"Ricky said he and Jaime wouldn't mind having him for a night, they love Carson."
"Are you sure they'll be okay watching him? He's only two months."
"I trust Jaime and Rick to watch our son. If anything goes wrong, they'll know to call us."
"I don't know?"
"Bri, he'll be fine. Now let's have ourselves a date night tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay." She sighed.
Finally, I get to spend an evening with my wife without any interruptions from the baby. Don't get me wrong, I love Carson to death, but it's been two months since I've actually spent some time with Brianne.
We could both use a break.
